Hi there,

started a new website and i'll start link building soon.

So, have an "about" (+1000 words) page which describe the website perfectly with the correct keyword redirecting to my homepage.

My homepage are optimized too, but i can't put +1000 words into it.

Wanna start link building soon, but need your advices.

Should i point links to my about page which boost my homepage ?

Link building to my homepage ?

Mix 50/50 homepage/about ?

Thanks a lot, and sorry for my bad english i hope i'll understand :D.

Start with your home page using naked URL, generic and branded anchors. Make it a mix of follow and do follow backlinks.

Naturally the home page will have the most backlinks and they will be naked URL and branded.

So it's a mistake to point links to about page ? If i made this, homepage will not get any juice?

Use homepage and inner pages, don't just focus on one page.

You should link to your main article which should be optimized for internal linking redirecting people to all the other smaller articles on your website.

If you yet don´t have a major article written, you know, something around 4k-5k words, filled with graphic elements, custom images, graphics, infographics, videos, etc., then yeah build links to your home page.

The about page does not see a lot of backlinks in most cases. Like @MisterF stated
, homepage and inner pages. Inner pages can be the about page but they are typically your landing pages and blog posts you are trying to rank.

Think of it like this, "is there a reason for someone to link to this page?" When someone links to a page that is NOT the homepage it is because it offers valuable information, solves a problem or would be of interest to others. Unless the about page is about a famous person I can not see anyone linking to it naturally. If you already sent links to the about page, LEAVE THEM. Just link out from the about page to a money page or home page.

Ok I'll start link building to homepage. Again thanks a lot for all your tips ! Very useful!!

I think what Roger Marquez said makes most sense, invest in kick ass $50 article, get some some awesome graphics in and you have a viral potential there...it will look way more natural to Google.
