Thoughts About My Stats

Hello guys,

I would like to hear your thoughts about stats of my friend's and mine website.
Niche: adult
Sub-Niche: specific hot adult keyword
Search volume of all keywords: 1M

We created it 6 months ago and, added content and we are adding fresh content regularly few times a week.
Until this month we had like 200-400 unique visits daily. 70% of that was organic(50% google and 20% other search engines)
There were times when we did some social networks promotions by our own and we had days when we had 2K-4K unique visits daily but we did it only 4-5 times in this 6 months.
We didn't build any backlinks.

This month our rankings improved very much. We have about 1K unique visits daily now(80% google) and we are ranked in top 5 for few high volume keywords very similar to our main keywords but we are nowhere on page one yet for our main keywords.

We monetize by paysite revshare. 8% of people who visit our website click on banners and conversion rate is 1:300.

We don't have a lot experience with adult niche, and we are curious to know, is such low conversion rate normal?

If the conversations are that low, the topic of your site (keywords in Google) is not related to paysite.
As the results, visitors are not able to find what they looking for or they already have it.

That shouldn't be the case. Keyword that we rank for is the name of the paysite...
And it is not some general keyword, like teen or amateur or similar.

What else do you think we should check for?
