I'm a US citizen, so I'm less familiar with these types of visas for obvious reasons. However, if I recall correctly, you'll need a B-1/B-2 visa to enter the USA (B-1 is for if you're planning to conduct business and a B-2 is for tourism). Technically, a B-1 visa is what you'd want to get as you'll be attending a business conference. However, both take somewhere in the neighbourhood of 2 weeks to 2 months to get approved. You can apply online here I believe. If you need to find cover letters, just type in something like "B-1 visa cover letter" into Google. The sample cover letter I linked to is interesting as it suggests that the company is supposed to write it for you.

The problem here is that visas can take quite a long time to get processed, so it's not something you want to leave 'til the last minute. UnGagged: Los Angeles starts on November 7th (a little more than 7 weeks from now, or less than 2 months from now), so if you're going to apply for the visa, do it as soon as possible.

Again, take all of this with a pinch of salt as I've not had to apply for visas before.

I am from Europe and I have a B1/B2 visa. They usually give the 2-in-1 visa for travelling + business.

OP, the last time I went to USA, they didn't ask me for the guarantee letter. I just told them that I am going to a conference and that I will be staying for 30 days only. However, they will ask you where will you be staying at and whether you have a booked hotel/motel or you will be staying at a friends house (they ask for the address too)

Thank you very much, I'll buy a ticket, Hope I'll get visa
