How does a website detect my real IP address when i'm using VPN?

What's up guys? I have a dilemma that i need to overcome. Hopefully with your advice I can do it.

My IP was blocked on one of the websites and they are not willing to unblock it.

I decided to hide my ip and try to register there with a VPN from different location. I selected Russia because it's a Russian/Ukrainian website and I was the only one there from US.

I created new email and was able to register. After to be able to post comments you need to confirm your email. Once I open my email and click on the link to confirm it transfers me to that website and my account is automatically banned right away. How do they know that it's me even when i'm using VPN and different location? I'm using opera browser.

What can i do to pass their security system?

They don't detect your real IP, but they can detect if you are using a VPN. Ip addresse of the VPN you used maybe already blacklisted by that website.

What about a new browser, wipe it clean of history and cookies etc.. then reload VPN.

It's most likely your browser. Try running Firefox with a useragent extension to create more profiles if it still doesn't work then there detection may be more elaborate such as looking at your ip leaked through webrtc, or even fingerprinting with canvas.

there loads of shit vpn services around , the real ip leaks thu the vpn ip .

a good vpn will protect you from leaks .

you have explained a bad vpn not to use.

when you connect a country thu the festures of a app on your pc , the vpn ip suppose to update there dns server and just show the website there ip but if there dns server sluggish or slow your real ip will show .

My guess is it is your browser cookies. Can very well be the ip your VPN connected through is banned also

Ok I'll try fresh browser/erase cookies. Will see how it goes.

Work with a new device for registration then you can log in with a cleaned old device. This simple approach always solve my problem.

Thanks a lot man. I downloaded tor and windscribe. Turned on best location and had no problems yesterday. Full day without getting banned.
