Depressed. Earned R1m + and lost it

Totally depressed here..
I have been with a popular cpa network for more than 4 years and during that time have earned more than $70 000 which is more than R1 000 000.00 in south african rands.

To cut the long story short, i was not financially savvy and spent it on buying cars and living the high life. Now i have nothing left except one bakkie among other things.

I know i am opening up to get bashed about my careless spending, which in honesty i deserve. I am working hard to earn again but this time i have a solid plan on how to wisely save money and only use 20% for myself.

My advice to anyone who reads this is that always invest your earnings.. You will save yourself the pain of going through your past earnings and discovering that you spent more than a million and have nothing worthy to show for all the hard work.

Thanks for these kind words. I am working harder everyday day, and with the knowledge i learnt from here, i dont think i will fail. Failure is not an option.

I see no reason to take advice from OP to heart. Learn from your mistakes, grow, and then once you've grown and re-stabilize, then give advice to others. Don't come here and say "I'm broke, here is some advice".

Of course, it's your right to disagree with what I say, but I'm talking from my own experience. I've seen many examples of people living a poor life, move to a better country and become rich. The only reason for their success is a reluctance to experience the shit they've seen before and their will to work like there's no tomorrow.

Op I am sorry.. But 70K in 4 years is about $1500 per month.. Some of us make & spend 5 times that every month.. That is less than McD full time pay in the states! Well just party at home next time.. I am sure you will bounce back..

Honestly, you don't really need much money to live. Life just isn't that expensive with some lifestyle adjustments (cheaper city, worse apartment, used car).

Food, rent, and car are your main expenses. Everything else, like clothing or a cellphone, is a sporadic purchase.

Allow me to disagree with that, some of us ( including me ) which are from tier 2/3 countries, have no model in life and we have a poor childhood from both sides, financial and educational.

Personally I am one of the many others`` kids of the revolution `` from my country which means I was born in the year when communism collapsed and democratic regime appear from nowhere; my parents were struggling to offer me a decent education and a normal living, but others of friends or relatives don`t and more than half of them going on shady ways.

10-12 years ago when I start my IM journey and I used to make some good money as for a 20`s years boy, of course, I party, I buy stuff, I travel and do whatever I afford to do because I`ve never had that before and you get one life.

You must know what is the hell like to understand the heaven someone said.

I didn't grow up having money and when i earned it online i wanted to have everything i always dreamt of having. I wish i saved some of it, but i am working hard to earn and save and use a portion of it for essentials.
