Hello my dear fellows. I have some simple questions I would like to ask you.

I am currently working on my first blog niche that is targeting my country [GR].

• I would like to know if it is better to choose a Local web host over an international.
• Should I go for a well known hosting company with a server in my country?
• Does the webhost's "Reputation" affects my site's "reputation" on google?
• "Load time" factor is counting AFTER the connection to the site has been established or since the beggining?

If targeted visitor from your country, go with local reputed provider. WebHost reputation is not matter for your site's reputation. Load time is factor from beginning.

So buying a local host is not the same as buying e.g a hostgator plan with datacenter in Greece

It likely won't matter for the first few months as it takes about 3-6 months to rank anything new.

The speed matters in total from when they click on the serp result.

If you are sure you only want to Target your country go ahead and get a country specific domain.

It will likely matter very little if you go with something like HostGator or a local provider.

Choose it as per your target geo. That way it will rank better in that geo and around it.

If your website is in bad server with hacking websites as neighborhood then yes, it will affect your Google rankings.

"Load time" will affect the site nonetheless as website speed is one of the main ranking factors.
