Hi everyone,

I've been lurking for the past months on this forum and not only the content is great, the people here are amazing!

Upon reading and reading I want to pull the trigger and start my own journey too.

Since I believe there is no point in doing something I don't like, like CPA, I wanted to focus mainly on selling stuff online but I would like your advice here.

I have yet to decide the plan but there are two routes:

1) Start an IG niche page
Grow it to 10k+
Start promoting an ecom dropshipping store/POD store

or

2) Start from ecom store
Ads/Shotout
???
Profit

I know this scheme is very basic but as I said, I am on my first experience. Any help is appreciated :)

Depends on what you want, how much budget do you have? The safest route would be the first one but it's gonna take you a few months, whereas the second option would be faster but more expensive for product testing etc...there is no good answer since everything depends on what you wish for...

Why don't you combine those two options instead? Find a good balance where you slowly grow an ig account while creating your ecom also.

Right now I have something like $300 that I can afford to invest.
What scares me is the cost of the ads to get to the famous tipping point, where I can start making good money.

Confused about what my store could look like if I have to invest time and maybe resources into IG also.

300$ is really too small, i would really suggest around 1000 - 2000$ min to be sure...

I'd recommend a $5k min for going in to ecom. People can get lucky or if they are sharp and figure their shit out early in terms of working with ad-sets, then yes it is doable even doing it under $1k but as a complete beginner, I'd recommend $5k.

Do you think it will be very hard to pull off a dropshipping ecom store for that amount of money?

Focus on setting up a great store and branding. Branding is extremely important. Don't put too much products in your store. The best would be to focus on one successful product.

Now here is the reply to your initial question: Try IG shoutouts first, before you grow your own account. Why? Because you will immediate results and most important you can see whether your niche/store is actually worth it or better to say performing well. Imagine you just spent weeks/months in growing an IG account just to find out the niche is shit or nobody is going to spend money.

Save yourself time, set up a great store, run IG shoutouts, check the performance of your store.

Start from anywhere which allows you to build a foundational organic audience to sell to

Thank you for the advice man!
Will the shoutouts still be worth even with a non existing following on IG? Should I target pages under 50k?

Do you mind sharing whats type of niche ? Automobile, Clothing, Health ?

Make sure to have some posts and buy fake followers.
You can get likes and comments on your posts from engagement groups so no need to buy them.

As for influencers, it's different for different niches, but personally I've had the biggest success with 200k+ followers pages.

Buying fake followers is really bad advice. If you don't want your main account to get banned.

I would prefer to not buy fake followers, it just doesn't seem right to me.
The main strategy will always be follow/unfollow and keep reposting content until I reach critical mass and can grow organically.

I would also recommend you to buy yourself some fake followers.

The Goal of the fake followers is to get the social proof on your account, so that other people think that you actually have a really known brand and that other people also have bought something from you before.

The downside is to be honest that your reach won't be that good after buying you followers, but since your main traffic will come from shoutouts and facebook ads that shouldnt be that big of a problem.

depends on your skills and knowledge i believe both are challenging and with Instagram's new update it may be easier to start with ecommerce

If that's the case anyway, wouldn't it be better for me to just do ecom and promote it?

I already have experience in online selling, I have dropshipped in the past but I never had an ecom website and I am afraid I can't bring enough traffic just with shoutouts that's why I wanted to grow IG too.
