how to create an 'unsubscribe page' for emails?

Hey guys,

So I been sending emails to local businesses to offer my online services and thought that I should add an 'unsubscribe' link on the bottom of my emails. After searching thru BHW and some googling, i couldn't find a simple solution to create this page. Can someone point me to the right direction? I just want them to be able to hit this button and then i'm notified that they are not interested so that i won't bother them again. I am sending these Emails straight from my business gmail account.

Also, if I am sending 20+ emails a day, would my email account somehow get flagged for spam? not sure how that all works..thanks!

Subscribe to service like MailChimp. It's free for 10,000 monthly emails. There is a list of subscribed/unsubscribed users, You can view e-mail statistics, etc.

Simply insert a link in the email message with this - "[email protected]?subject=Unsubscribe". You will receive a new message as "Unsubscribe" if they click the link and send it.

No, you should place your email address instead of xx.

so i tried my email address instead of xx and it didn't work. So i input something like: [email protected]?subject=Unsubscribe as a link to "unsubscribe" and once i click on that link it gave me a "404. That’s an error." what did i do wrong?

You can create a contact page with unsubscribe title and let them fill the form with their email. Once they fill the form, you will get a notification and you can remove that email from your database.

For a better experience, name your page Report Spam rather than Unsubscribe, that way people who are going to complain to your ISP will not go there directly and simply fill the form and you can remove them. After form submission, show them a message saying, we have received your spam complaint, we will look into the matter asap ( something like this ).

doesn't matter where you create that form, in a subdomain, or inside your websites like abc.com/spam-report or abc.com/unsubscribe. You just need to put that link in the footer of your every email campaign with hyperlink saying Report Spam | Unsubscribe. you can make 2 forms as well to look more realistic. You just need to collect email address no more detail is needed.
