I tried multiple press releases from different providers, Both free and paid.. what i can Tell you right from the start is that press releases without other kinds of backlinks will have 0 effect on the ranking.. use it if you have a big firm and huge anouncement to get your message out there, never for ranking boosts

That s what i can Tell you so far. And i used plenty of them. You can use them as diversity in your link profile if you want. But as for their ranking strength.. meh,
