I need an honest opinion about my website design (html+css)

Hi everyone,

I want to sell webdesign services and I need an opinion on the homepage I made for a law firm (I just made the homepage with little content for now)

I just need to know if it looks good, professionnal enough to be used by a real law firm. As I said there is little content for now as I just want to know if I'm in the right direction.

Is there any 'big' mistake? Does it looks good?

I asume you are using a theme already designed and you are just moving the parts.
(If you are coding from scratch I would say doing unnecesary work for something that isn't that unique)
Design is Ok, but just Ok.
It looks "in construction".
How good is it depends on the price, but I would tag it in the lower end.

However I coded everything myself from scratch

The header is better than yours because it has a call to action.

I admire your skills to code from scratch, but my view comes from a graphic designer.
If your design isn't going to do better than an already well designed theme why would you code it from scratch if it's already done and available with a lot of included features?
Design is key

So you would recommend me buying a wp premium theme?

I know it's a lot to ask but if you have any examples of law firm websites that you consider well designed, it would help me a lot

OP, I would put faded texture in "Our mission" area just like in the header. I like it so far.

I'm viewing it on mobile.

It looks fine to me, I'd add some more margin-top on the logo chambers , its inconsistent from top and bottom margins.

For a law site, most sites in fact, I'd expect to see a menu so I can browse team, services etc.

Yeah the mobile version is not done as I didnt add the menu and like you said, margins are not good

Yes it is and they may have paid a nice fee for it.
But I would never think of coding it from scratch.
There are pretty well designed themes you can buy
at very affordable rates and just tweek to your likings.

To say you went from a blank html to that, it's pretty good.

I often spend ages in the design / UX process, then move in to front end.

I don't use Loren ipsum, content is as much part of the design if not more than the aesthetics or UX and mark-up.

Go to theme forest or any other big theme market.
You'll find many to chose from.
If you don't know which, do a simple research and find something you liked as the one you used as an example.
Don't overcomplicate things up.
