Make Money With Dad Jokes (Seriously)

I have a question. I'm thinking about doing one of your other methods or at least this with a twist. How does music work? Soundstripe says you can license all their songs but in the FAQ if an artist wants to claim it they can? So then I would not get any of the revenue even though I bought the license for it? I'm just a little confused on that. Same with CS there anytime that music can be claimed too? What's the best way to go about it? Just copyright free?

It's not even clickbait.

I have been having a ball with Content Samurai and honestly I'm not sure how I did everything I did before i had it.

Before you start in on me, no im not affiliated with CS and now they didnt ask me to post. Its just a really well done peice of software that made my life a lot easier.

I have made several test YouTube channels to work with CS and see what if viable and what isn't. While doing all this I remembered a snarky little fact I had long forgotten.

You can't copyright a joke.

You can't copyright facts.

You can't copyright stats.

You can't copyright public domain books (like the bible)

you can't copyright quotes. (mostly)

Now, I don't know if that made any bells go off in your head but it sure as hell rang my head like sunday church.

I know this because when I was running my Kindle publishing company, I would write a shit ton of non copyrightable crap and sell the shit out of it. obviously Kindle (Amazon) changed their minds about that sort of content and you can't really do it on their platform anymore.

But you can on YouTube.

You can make a metric fuckton of non copyrighted videos.

I can go to a joke site, rip 100 jokes right off the website, paste them into CS and let the software do the work. If I don't like a particular image or video, I do a quick search and change it. You can even upload your own.

You better believe your sweet baby Jesus I am pumping out videos like a mad man and they look 100 times better for the time I put into them vs slides. (and I made really good slides)

So, since dad jokes can't be copyrighted, take a ton of them and put them into CS and upload. You don't need to show your face. I would do the voice over but CS makes it really easy to do that.

Use your nugget and you can spin this a bajillon differrent ways and make bank.

Guys I hope you Liked the little money maker method, its not going to make you rich by any means (not right off the bat anyways) but it will put some passive coin in your pocket for very little work.

Questions? leave them down below!

Thank you for sharing this. Believe it or not, this is something I have been thinking about since the rise of the Reddit YT channels. I tinkered with the software a little. It's fairly easy to use, pretty confident a chimp could learn it. What I'd like to figure out is if there's a way to monetise the channel even with the robot voice. I'm reluctant to do my own voice overs and I can't afford to pay someone to do it.

About views, do you get yours organically or share the videos on SM?

I’m not the OP, but I have a lot of experience on YouTube so wanted to drop my .02 cents on this. Robot voices leave a lot to be desired, and IMO leave a lot of money on the table even if they somehow find success. They just lack so much personality which causes it to be a bit mind numbing to watch over and over. Think about how many playlists you’ve watched with nothing but robot voices. I’m willing to bet the answer is very low if not zero, and it’s because it’s a disconnected experience for viewers.

Can it be done? Sure, lots of people do it but I don’t think it’s a long term strategy by any means. It’s a matter of time before your channel is left in the dust. I would use a voice changer before using a robot voice in nearly every situation aside from a few exceptions.

One exception I can think of is if you were using jokes made by AI (they are quite awful btw). At least then the context works and a robot is reading a joke that it “wrote”. When I see a video with a robot voice all I can think of is spam, scam, or insecurity. Just completely turns me off the video, and many others will feel the same way. It can kill what would otherwise be great content.

Thank you! Honestly, I was thinking the same which is why I have not done anything (I think) but English isn't my first language and I feel like that'll take away from the humor as well, I'm worried about my accent. And even voice. It's not good enough for YT in my opinion. Although I know it seems like excuses not to take action, and maybe they are! It's a very stupid yet valid concern in my mind

I personally wouldn’t use the robotic voice.

For one,if you look at all the channels who used to use them, they don’t anymore. Mostly because YouTube won’t monetize it anymore.

I have thought of one spin and that’s if your channel had a robotic theme to it. “Robot facts” “facts from the future” stuff like that.

You could trade work with someone. Tell someone e with good English that if they read your script, you’ll do their video. Both win.

No problem! Don’t let your voice stop you if you have a good idea. Like OP said, you could always do a JV for a channel if you really think your voice just isn’t cut out for it. However, also keep in mind that you don’t have to have the voice of Morgan Freeman to be successful. Cut yourself some slack :)

Little twist idea:
1. Make lots of T-Shirt Designs with dad jokes , quotes etc.
2. Upload them on spreadshirt, amazon mba, shirtee and teespring.
3. Promote them via YouTube and Facebook groups.

Awesome idea! CS offers a free 7 day trial but says Create Unlimited Videos. I'm in lol

I think anything in the realm of technology, AI, could work with this, but I don't know if YT will monetize. As for a person, I think that could work if I don't have to pay them. I can't afford it at the moment. As for the robotic voice channels, I know a few, but I don't know if they're monetised.

Thank you, man. To be fair, I don't know if it's THAT terrible, I guess it's just the usual excuses not to jump into something. It's stupid and annoying at the same time, but I guess we've all had to deal with it.

Once you have something that works I would do anything and everything to squeeze ever dime out of it. As long as it doesn’t stop people from watching I would go full throttle with it.

I wouldn’t let anything stop you. I actually don’t have teeth. I hate to wear my dentures. I think I sound like a old man and no one wants to hear me.

I’ve somehow managed to push through and lots of people hear me and don’t think that. I get thanked all the time for the value I bring.

Don’t let that fear stop you. You’ll miss out. I promise.

You are indeed one of the people who provide a lot of value to the forum. Thanks for everything.

You could make a shit ton of videos in 7 days. Enough to know how awesome it is. Ten a day and you have a whole channel it takes other people a year to make.

Thank you for the kind words!

How many videos, subscribers, views per video on average is needed to start making money from a youtube channel? Say, 1 - 5 USD a day.

gave it a quick try using dumb farmer jokes:
I haven’t tried on YouTube, but with kindle I had about 30 different niches like lawyer and doctor jokes, dirty bat jokes etc

You’ll need around 1000 views to get about 2$-4$

Just looked at the joke channels on YT (as i am bored and my cousin wanted to do this method) and almost all of them are demonetized, looks like OP forgt that part of the equation...
