He probably watched some guru like Gary V who loves saying that passive income doesn't exist.
Gary V (and people like him) is correct in his own way, because his reality is a bit different than most normal people's, in that he owns and deals with multi-million and -billion $ businesses daily. You surely can't have such a business and have it run passively.
When it comes to IM, most methods that will make you like 50 bucks daily all have a degree of passivity to them. If you have a website that ranks, a yt channel, get social media traffic, etc, all of those will keep making you money even after you stop working on them for a few months, even a year.
But even the most passive IM methods will eventually slowly die down and in a year or two you'll have to do something else, so in that sense passive income really doesn't exist. Depends on your definition.
