Hi

I own a small local business that serves south east of England. I never really commited to this forum because of the name suggests it's for temporary results for websites you dont mind being banned/delisted from Google. But my local business, i need more "white hat" links and can't take risks with PBN blasts, cheap web2.0 links etc.

I had seo-only affiliate businesses in the past but the panda and penguin updates just slaughtered them and I set up my local business about 5/6 years ago.

I realise there are loads of gems on this board that fit my longterm strategy and willing to read though and get ideas. When I first came onto this site, the advice was just xrumer and senuke. I'm glad the strtaegy has moved into a more qualitative direction, even after panda and penguin, the sellers here was still pushing them.

If you want to have sustainable whitehat success with SEO - the best way to do it is with keyword research and writing quality keyword friendly content that is helpful and informative.

Write a few articles a week and eventually you will start to rank and get free traffic. But playing the long time and staying commited to your goal is the key to success with whitehat SEO.

Good luck mate!

Hey Icey,

The industry I'm in hasn't changed much over the years. 5 years ago you could get actual exact match impression counts on Google Adwords, I managed to get all of my keywords and their volume data from then and I saved them. So luckily I'm gold with keywords :)

I do want a bit more oomph with my SEO, I was thinking of paying people to link to me in guest posts. There are some well known freelancer websites where authors pitch for guest post links themselves, and you can bypass the middleman tax that way.

What greyhat techniques do you recommend for link building that has low risk of getting caught and getting penalised.

First of all. Guest post is really stronger than other links. some strong PBN links will boost your keyword ranking.
I think you may try full SEO pack one time to see the result. Better.
