I know that many of us are a bit tired of the numerous AMA's that get started so I hope I can offer some true value with this one. I do have a decent amount of experience with Fiverr. I have been selling on there since 2010! I have earned well into the 6 figures with the platform and figured I must have some knowledge that will help some BHW users.

There are so many Fiverr threads and people asking questions pertaining to Fiverr and making money with it that I figured I would start this AMA to help point a few people in the right direction and to collect some fiverr questions and answers in one place for everyone's convenience.

All that I ask is that you keep the questions for this thread and not PM me. I'll try and pop back into the thread to answer comments as often as I can but I will probably wait for at least a few questions to build up before replying. Please ask sensible answerable questions and not stuff like "how much money can I make with fiverr" etc.

Thank you and here is to your success.

I've had my gig up since early 2018, the only order I have is one client from Reddit that needed an invoice because he was paying from the company's money and because I have no VAT number we had to do it through some platform, so we got on Fiverr since I had a gig there already.

Would you be kind enough to take a look at it in private and tell me what am I doing wrong?

Photo editing niche.

Could we have multiple (just few) Fiverr seller account in same IP?
Planning to make few to reduce loss of ban.

What are some easy niches to start with?

How to define competition?

How much do I need to invest?

Did you ever face any ban? If yes, how did you unban your account?

Best way to market your gigs especially if you´re a new seller? I would like to know what else can you recommend besides optimizing your gig for your main keyword and paying for reviews.

how to rank gig and stick it to the top for a specific keyword search ?

Not exactly a fiverr question, but in fact a fiverr question.
Is there benefit to managing and posting gigs on fiverr clones? Should you focus completely on fiverr or leave out a bit of time and resources for the small gig platforms? Is fiverr the emperor of gig-type marketplaces?

Dear @William702

For the sake of brief questioning I would ask for the whole process to do it right now step by step guide.

Like:

1. open account - or several accounts?
2. buy some service reviews
3. link all your services to have more exposure
4. drive traffic - how? from where?

What am I missing?

Tried a while ago and failed flat at fiverr and upwork.

Thanks for sharing

I am LEVEL one seller, but i am not getting much sales on fiverr , where i am missing , i have lots of reviews too

How difficult it is to get work for a programmer ( particularly with PHP language ) as well as establish a new account? Do I need to buy reviews/ratings or is it somewhat possible to do it completely white hat? Also, curious about the demand of such work on fiverr.

Thanks :)

How do you gauge the competition of a niche? How do you figure out if a particular service/niche is worth getting into? Little known tricks/places you've found to drive traffic from?

How can you specifically compete against top sellers in the same niche? Like do you offer a lot more, undercut them, take away from their description or offerings, etc.?

Can you pay for fiver services on paypal instead of using their platform?

Does Fiverr works same as google, can you optimize your product pages?

Great thread! Thanks for all the replies you’ll provide.

What is the best gig/account takeoff strategy for a competitive service? It can cost. Whitehat/blackhat what ever methods for fastest way to get orders.

If you would like to check, the service is WordPress Speed Optimization.

Also, what would you recommend to do in this specific case? (but asking for any kind of service as it applies) Let's say I have a gig where I help the client grow their account on Instagram. If I wanted to offer to Audit their Instagram or do Influencer Researching for them, should one put these 2 extra services as "Extras" in the original gig, or make them as their own separate gigs and maybe lead the buyer to check those other gigs? How would you do it?

I'm afraid I would not have the time to look at things individually but I am happy to try and answer questions in this thread. I don't have any experience in the photo editing niche so I would not know if your offer s a good one or not. I suspect it is a competitive niche with prices ranging from very high to very low. If you only created it to get a vat number then it is hardly a surprise it has not gone anywhere without any serious effort put in.

As this is the first reply I will mention this here but it is not directed at you personally, but as you asked it is a good time to point it out.

I wont be able to coach or personally look anyone's stuff. I'm not here to do that, just here to answer some questions in this thread for the benefit of anyone looking.

I would not advise it. I have had several accounts on one IP in the past but I think things are changing constantly in that regard so it would not be something I would advise, especially if you are doing it to mitigate the risk, if anything you will be increasing the risk if you already have accounts that are getting banned.

I personally like the offering shoutouts, things like etsy favorites, pinterest pins, things that are easy to do and can be automated so that when you get clients ordering 10k of something it is just as easy to do as someone who ordered a dozen. I don't really worry too much about competition. I just worry if I can offer a service at a competitive price. If I cant compete in that regard then I don't bother. If you have a service you can do easily enough and there are other people there offering the same thing at least it shows there is some sort of a market for it on Fiverr. You don't need to invest anything as far as I can see but that all depends on the service you are offering and if you plan to pay for traffic.

Did you ever face any ban? If yes, how did you unban your account?

Yes I have lost accounts in the past, once due to multiple accounts on the same IP even though i did not lose any of the others. some due to needing to verify etc. I just move on. and make anew one. I dont bother trying to fight with or beg with Fiverr.

It all depends on what you are offering, its a hard question to answer without knowing the specifics as there are literally hundreds of ways one can promote a gig. The gigs I offer make them very easy to promote to their demographics on Etsy, Poshmark, Pinterest, FB groups etc. Use affiliates, get people to sell your gig and give them a commission is one idea. Other than using social media to drive free traffic I have not tried many other methods of driving traffic.

how to rank gig and stick it to the top for a specific keyword search ?

Hard work and being consistent in delivering fast, getting 5 star reviews, high converting gig. you need to put in the work of getting it established. no new gig is going to outrank everything else for no reason. There are not too many ways of cheating this, you just have to put the work in if you want a gig to be at the top, especially if it is a competitive niche.

I personally do not see much point in it. I don't do it. I just stick with fiverr. also the aff program is a big part of what makes it fruitful and economical to do.

1) I would open just one on a single IP if that is what you are asking. I do have multiple accounts though but they are old, I never do anything odd with them. they all have stellar feedback some are level 2 and some are level 1, some are still getting there. I'm not going to say it cant be done but for a lot of people its the wrong way to go about it.

2) Paying for reviews is a good and bad thing. I dont trust any of the providers to offer goo enough reviews. I dont trust that their business practices wont interfere with mine. I dont want people knowing of my accounts and gigs, (people get jealous and are dicks sometimes) I dont trust that they wont get caught or do something stupid that will get me caught yup in it. some offer really shit work from accounts that look totally fake. its hard to find the right people. and when you do all they have is one or two accounts so not worth all the risk for just a handful of reviews. Do reviews help? yeah of course they do but it is a case of judging the risk involved on a case by case basis.

3) what do you mean by link all of your services? do you mean up sell or just mentioning them in each gig you post? do you mean liking to them from other places like social media?

4) Yes I drive the vast majority of the traffic each gig gets myself from other sites. I just make a gig tailored to a certain marketplace or niche and then go places where those people hang out to promote it such as Etsy or on fb groups. a trick that has been working well for me is the offering a free sample or offering one of the extras i sell in the gig for free to get them to the page. some will just take the freebie and some will purchase some extra stuff.

I'm sure if you have missed anything it will soon be covered in this thread :)

I am LEVEL one seller, but i am not getting much sales on fiverr , where i am missing , i have lots of reviews too

It could be the price, it could be the competition obviously this is a very hard question to try and answer without the specifics but I'm sure you don't want to post those here. I dont know what you sell, how long you have been selling it for, if you have all positive reviews, if you have a ton of competition. If you have any questions that are more specific please feel free to ask.

How difficult it is to get work for a programmer ( particularly with PHP language ) as well as establish a new account? Do I need to buy reviews/ratings or is it somewhat possible to do it completely white hat? Also, curious about the demand of such work on fiverr.

I have no idea. I am not a programmer nor have I ever offered any services like that.

That's a tough one, the first few questions should be answered above but as for the last part about beating a top seller. It is tough to just keep undercutting and that can lead to a whole heap of problems. its just a case of building up your customer base else where. I see a lot of people thinking that they have to compete on Fiverr. all they have to do is drive traffic from outside of fiverr and the chances are that the person looking will just see their gig and not know of the competition.

Fiverr is all about driving sales to your own gig and not relying on Fiverr. anyone relying on Fiverr will fail or not reach hardly any of their potential. plus the upside e is being able to take advantage of the aff program.

Can you pay for fiver services on paypal instead of using their platform?

Yeah if you want to, you will probably get banned sooner or later. its against their TOS

Does Fiverr works same as google, can you optimize your product pages?

Yeah sure you can stuff a ton of keywords in there and hope you show up under different searches but as i have mentioned above relying on fiverr traffic is never a good idea. so no matter how much a gig is optimized it will never com close to driving your own traffic.

Great thread! Thanks for all the replies you’ll provide.

Depend son the service, offering good value is the best way to get clients. once you have someone in the door for a cheap service you can up-sell them on tons of stuff. build trust with the first order and over deliver and then it makes selling one million times easier. if you have a budget then use paid ads and target your demographic on sites like Facebook.

How would you do it?

both. make a stand alone gig and also offer the services from all of your gigs as extras, the more places you can promote the services you offer the better. I would 100% do both, that is if you have the ability to make enough gigs. if a buyer orders a basic gig i will mention the extras to them as well even if they are listed and they already passed them by. you would be surprised at how many people will pick them up based on your recommendation.

i have seen lot of normal gigs which have 300 to 500 sales are stick in the top rank then 1000 sales gig, what you think about that?
