So, i've been reading so much on BHW about web 2.0 and PBNs, there is a lot of variety on opinions but this is so far what i've gathered.

- Newly registered web 2.0 are useless since they pass no link juice at all
- Expired web 2.0 with high PA (40+) can help a bit if MS keywords are low competition
- Expired web 2.0 can help on rankings if they have high PA but their TF/CF is none (would be better if their TF/CF was high)
- Expired web 2.0 doesnt necessarily need to match your niche. You cant resurrect them and start posting your niches content
- Expired web 2.0 are useless as long as you are trying to rank for medium competition keywords

So that makes me ask, is it even worth to spend any time and resources on finding expired web 2.0 rather than finding expired domains and set up some PBN? I'd say no, but i'd like to hear others

Expired domains all the way. Much stronger for SEO.
PBN IS always top solution tho, but not everyone has money and time to take care of one.

Plus, getting a PBN for me is worth if you plan to open at least 2 more sites in the same niche or in the same category.

True.

Thanks everyone,

We agree on the fact that PBNs links are stronger than 2.0 links, but I find it much easier to work on 2.0 because:

1) Old niche on expired 2.0 doesnt need to match your niche
2) There are way more expired 2.0 than expired domains with good metrics

I think i'll go on 2.0s to see how they impact on my niche (medium/small). These are the things that cannot be belived and need to be tested.

If you are not interested to invest in PBN then just find any expired domain with good metrics and redirect it to your home page (moneysite)

What expired web2.0s are you using? Just tumblr or?

Both have they place in SEO, but of course your own private PBN will be way stronger

I would prefer to have good expired Domains. But If I cant find any I will take a web 2.0.

I am very interested into working on a PBN, its just that there's not too many good domains for my niche out there in my language, if I find any good domain at any time, I would surely work it

How many blogs pointed to a post(or homepage) targeting hard comp. keyword would be good? And what are the avg. metrics?

Thanks.
As much as i need, sometimes even few are doing the job.

I think a bunch of expired web2.0 with metrics like DA/PA>35+ , TF>10 would help a little in the link building effort - if you load uniquely written content onto these, they can actually work a little better than with spun content all the way. Seems like Big G knows about spun content - having unique ones would definitely help with the ranking.

Hey the basic difference is that Web 2.0 backlinks are FREE while PBN backlinks are paid. In Web 2.0 you don't need to invest anything whereas PBN needs heavy investment.
As both these techniques are used to gain leads & traffic to your money website & get better ranking in search engine result pages & major thing is that PBN is used for Tier 1 backlinking & Web 2.0 is used as in both Tier 1 & Tier 2 backlinking.

There's always a risk with using PBN with serious effects on a site and its ranking. As for Web 2.0 I think it is better with less risk.
