about 9 years ago I had a twitter in my country, @boysengirls. I grew it pretty fast for a small country as the netherlands and it went to over 100k of followers in like 7 months. It were all attractive followers for businesses as it was very targeted, like teens and around it. I made 2000 euro a month with it after 7 months. Monthly.

then I made a noob mistake (non-repeatable). I wanted to create other twitters around it, great idea of course, as I made 2000 euro that fast and the account was growing like hell, building others around it, and with the contacts i made with other big accounts in my country. i couldnt rule out 10 to 20k a month earnings.

BUT the work would get too much for me, and so I made a beginner mistake, I searched for someone that could help, making some arrangements, sharing the password.

U can tell that didn't last long before it went wrong, the guy got the newest ipad for it (stupid deal anyway), and the buyer lived a life of dreams for years. I didn't know the guy, I don't know who bought it in other words, but I can know for certain he earnt enough to not look at money for years.

I went to the police, these devils told me they'd look into the case, now like 9 years and several reminders later I still didn't hear anything. This may have been a joke to them, but certainly not to me.

All I want to ask is, is there any prank from my side possible now? Is there any way to get back at someone for doing this?

I am holding no grudge whatsoever I gave it a place, but among the immensely experienced here, I do wonder what you would do.

What you could have done that time is contact Twitter support who would have tried helping you with it. Now I don't think you can do anything about that account or that person.

You’re just 4730400 minutes late maybe earlier you could have got help. Anyway try HAF you never know if it works

Edit: if it’s 100k that bothers you then buy one with 100k twitter account here or ask @ScreamingMidget to get you visitors he’s running a service

Well its not hacked since the guy had a password. Did you gave him original email password as well? I am not sure if anything could be done if that much time passed, you should have tried with twitter support right when it got compromised by the other guy. I mean you could still try with the support but not sure if they will be able to trust you and give your account back.

I am not sure if he can get back the users, since his followers where real country based plus he built it up with tweets/comments.

lets all not forget i`ve spent months trying to get the account back in every possible way. i just didn`t. twitter didn`t give it back to me also. the twitter system isn`t Always that reliable and doens`t Always give the account back to the rightful owner trust me.

There are complete knobs in all areas of business. Although there are more in the web/affiliate industry IMHO. Personally, I just assume that anyone scamming is probably living a pretty poor life - if they need to scam to earn a decent living.

My life is pretty good and reasonably stress free. I go for a drive in my car, grab a coffee and go for a walk down the beach - that's my revenge right there.

Wow you seem like a wise woman. Very nice words.

Business... aye? Hard to rely on anyone unless you've got a contract with them so that you can take them to court if they try screwing with you.
