aside from watching YT ive never looked into $$ from it . the kids watch all sort of crap tho i noticed and they sometimes set their pads down and thus the ads pop up in the middle of pjmask for example and run to completion. i was wondering if ads are not clicked just left to run as if viewed from begining to end do the video owners get paid ? or only when the ads are actually clicked?
there seems to be conflicting opinions so if anyone can clear this up thanks in advance

If you are talking about the skippable ads that show up, then yes the content owners get paid if a minimum of 30 seconds of the video ad was watched. If the ad is less than 30 seconds then the owners get paid if the viewer watches the ad to the very end. No clicking needed for payment. For the display ads that show up though, a click is needed for payment. But most YouTubers will tell you that the skippable ads are where the bulk of their revenue come from, as much as 90% in some cases.

The pay sucks, averaging between $0.006 and $0.015 per page view, but it's quick and easy. YouTube shares 55% of its ad revenue with video creators and books an average of $7.60 per 1,000 ad views. That means you getabout $4.18 for every 1,000 views of ads shown on your videos.

It adds up to those who do millions of views weekly or monthly thou.

Both. Their is no set pay for YouTube (Come from an Ex-YouTuber) some clicks are $5 some are $0.75. Some thousand views are $7 some are less. But it’s a massive amount of opportunity on YT. I ended up working with WorldStar and getting paid by them just for them seeing how large my audience became over a short amount of time.

Exactly the kids (5 year olds twins) love YouTube and are usually are watching home made vids one had 43 million views others 4 million. At $ 7 per 1000 that's a nice 7k per million and at 43 million that is a close to cool 30k for dad to spend time with Thomas the train on the carpet and editing some basic story and stunts... Just seen one with 58million views

It depends on the niche and the country your views are coming from, so there is not a specific $ for every 1,000 views.
