Should I block these potential Ghost followers?

You can search through followers by typing in the first letter, and go through the alphabet

What about those accounts that start with a number? how do you search for them? They are more likely to be ghost/spam followers ...

No! Don't do this! This approach won't do aby good!
Get rid of those ghost followers ASAP, that's what will be beneficial in the long run otherwise you will stay stuck. No other way!

Another suggestion: You can leave this account idle and start a new account and try to maintain good engagement in that one!

you cant engage with them ! , and you dont know how old is their post ! they could of posted back in 2016 .

I just found out the hard way that removing ghost followers is a BAD THING.

I removed about 20 on Saturday, 40 yesterday, and the traffic to my account pretty much stopped.

Obviously this idiotic algorithm cannot detect that I used the "remove" button, that it was me who threw out those followers.

The algorithm thought I suddenly had a mass unfollowing of 60 or more people. It also shows in the "creator account" statistics as "unfollowed you"

So I'm stopping this. It's doing NOTHING good, but does HARM.

Ok yes perhaps , BUT have you ever been penalized for botting before with the same account? and when did you stop botting before doing the manual way ?

I've seen this happen multiple time despite the argument of supporters in favor of ghost account removal. IG is not stupid. Unless you remove certain accounts very gradually so that IG doesn't notice so much, I think that mass removals could hurt instead of help accounts.
