After a lively post of how I was going to throw 2 grand at an amazon Affiliate site I'm still sitting on the fence. I think the main issue is trust. Trust that the site developer will produce said site and it'll have a reasonable chance of success. Else it feels like pissing into the wind a bit. If such sites are winners why isn't the developer keeping them and making millions from 1000s of such sites?

Thread moved.

Don’t assume you’ll be able to buy the site and then watch it make its money back. It will likely require a lot of hard work on top of that, post delivery.

Yes and probably I don't have the time or skills to throw at it to make it work. Hell the forums are full of 1-3 year journeys with guys that have bled out trying to bank and have nothing to show for it. Sure you have the success stories but these are outweighed buy multiple stories of failure. I need to rethink my plan some

I’m with davids355 on this. If it was me I would invest the $2k into content of my own. I’d rather bank on my research than hoping something else works.

You mean develop my own content via a writer?

If I were you, I'd start with the basics.

Do keyword research and find yourself a profitable Amazon niche. If you're unfamiliar, start here: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/d...hort-beginners-guide-to-blackhat-seo.1134018/

Then, choosing a niche, you should go here: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/hekkes-niche-selection-guide.819406/

And finally, Amazon Associates, you can learn a lot here:

https://onlinesellingexperiment.com...s-guide-to-getting-started-selling-on-amazon/

My advice:
Step 1: Follow the threads above and find a niche and gather a set of keywords together for the niche.
Step 2: Pick a good domain name. Something brandable, not spammy. Also, see here for choosing expired domains: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/d...hort-beginners-guide-to-blackhat-seo.1134018/
Step 3: Start developing your brand and content. If you need a content writer, I'd recommend @Geasy service. The price for the number of words you get is perfect for starting a brand new authority site.
Step 4: Build your social media. Facebook, pinterest, instagram, and twitter will help your garner sales. Look into Jarvee for Twitter. There's another bot for Facebook as well. Spam your site to Facebook groups. It works with sales, trust me.
Step 5: Start building backlinks. The first thing you should do is submit your new site to a press release site and hope that'll catch on to other PR websites. Then start building a set of web 2.0 backlinks. There is information on how to do that and also how to index those backlinks here: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/d...hort-beginners-guide-to-blackhat-seo.1134018/
Step 6: Keep up with building backlinks and targetting users/sales via social media. Keep pushing and worst case scenario, you can sell the website 6-12 months down the line for a nice profit.

Hope this helps.
