This journey just gone crazy. I guess OP will achieve 10k/month until EOY :)
I like your patience and how you wait for things to settle before making any new move.
I would like to know the links that you shared in the post where you also mentioned about the Income School channel, would be better to send by PM

@Mechy what do you suggest?

Start with a new domain?
or
Find & buy a powerful expired domain with clean backlinks profile and use it?

Interesting Journey...
I am new to the SEO world and planning on working on a money site...

Should I start with a new domain or get an expired domain? (Don't have much idea about expired domains but have read that they help in quick ranking). Your thoughts?

If you do not have a lot of experience with expired domains, go for a new domain in my opinion. You can cut the time and cost a lot with an expired domain, but it is a really big risk. If you get a penalized expired domain, it may never grow as a new clean domain could.

I just read through everything. This is a very motivating and interesting one.

Let me quickly ask one question tho... Since you outsource most of your articles to different writers, do you create author's profile for each of the writers or just post under a single name/author?

It sounds like a weird question but i have a feeling I've been over thinking that part.

Congrats on your journey and still good luck on reaching $1,000/day. I hope to witness that soon.

Thanks

No I use my own author profile for all of my posts. However, I do not use author pages either, but a simple "Author box" in the sidebar on all pages, to grow some trust with the readers. It's also a faked picture and bio.

nice thread... can you share a sample of content you utilise? it must be like super high quality to have this kind of traffic.

I wouldn't say that it's super high quality, just targeting the right keywords and answering questions that people search for.

Are you using amazon product images from API or use stock images?

I'm using stock images and images from free picture sites.

When you are searching on google images, you can choose tools and "labeled for reuse" to make sure you won't get copyrighted images.

Amazing journey :)

Would you attribute your site's obviously great success to:

Niche selection
KW selection
Helpfulness/Usefulness of the Content
Volume of content

Or all of the above?

And similar to the question above, do you use stock photos in your articles?

The niche that I'm in has been my daily job for over 10 years, so I have a lot of experience in the topic. The other thing is that I have figured out a really good way to write about topics without a lot of competition. I have also spent hundreds of hours to learn how to make a fast and well-structured website.

Make your website fast and easy for google to crawl together with good content and you will see good success. Try your website with software like screaming frog to make sure that you can crawl it fast and easy without a lot of crap pages.

Index Posts, Pages and categories, and noindex the rest like tags, etc.

In my experience, use the categories in the top menu and index them. If you noindex the categories, they won't pass link juice to your posts below them. A year ago, I had them noindexed because I learned there is only duplicated content with the excerpts from the posts. This seems totally false because I got a huge boost in the SERP's when I indexed these.

This journey just gone crazy. I guess OP will achieve 10k/month until EOY :)

Update July

Have been on vacation the whole month so haven't been working on the site at all. I have become lazy when this website is growing without any work, a bad habit that I have to change. :D

When I'm at my hometown, a lot of people ask for help with their companies and I'm too kind to say no, unfortunately. This restricts my time a lot to work on my own projects. I know my weakness and I have realized that I have to travel away for a while to work on my own projects.

Because of this, I'm traveling to Thailand/Asia in October for some months to be alone for a while and be able to work undisturbed with my old and new projects.

As said, I haven't been putting any work on the website in July either, even if I have 60 unpublished articles on the computer. 30 of them are review articles with 3000 words, to boost my Amazon revenue a bit and the rest is information articles.

Traffic in July:
327k Unique Visitors/392k Sessions
310k Users from google search.

Earnings

Couldn't be more happy with the results so far :D Hard work does really pay off.

I remember all the hours reading SEO articles, checking Youtube videos and remaking websites without any results for several months. Just keep working on your websites and don't let a failed project stop you. I had a lot of failed projects that seemed like a lot of waste in time and money, but they gave me the knowledge to create successful projects.

You've killed your goal, over $200/day now. Great journey and very inspiring. Keep it up, man!

Congrats. You done it and ever already more than that. I have a question, Site 1 is making that amount of money. So, you left site 2 after PBN penalty?

And whats your keyword research plan? I mean, you are having huge information content and you are not doing Backlink right now? And you just mentioned you have some web 2 and press or something like. From where did you get web 2 and press?

Hope to get a solid answer from you. Thanks

Great journey mate, keep going!

Thanks guys!

Site 2 is pretty dead. I'm removing the articles from google index slowly and going to migrate these to other sites. You could probably recover this site if you had the time, but I find it easier to split the articles to other sites. I got the penalty lifted tho, but I don't find any interest in continuing on it after the penalty.

No blackhat right now. Check out your competitors highest traffic pages with low amount of backlinks, and write better articles. A good tip is to find pretty new websites and check their highest traffic pages and write a better article and rank above them fast. I know this does not seems fair to the newly started websites, but hey it's business.

Wouldn't recommend getting 2.0's now if you don't have a lot of money to spend.

I would recommend creating pages for your brand on all social sites. There are services that are doing this for you and creating your business profile on 50-100 on the largest social platforms. Absolutely worth it in my opinion. I'm not maintaining my social sites tho. Just letting them sit thereafter they're created.

Join forums in your niche and give great answers with a link to your site. If you give informational answers, your posts will most likely stay there. You can also get traffic + links to your sites.

If you could find a good press-release provider it's worth doing it.

Then after that try to find some guest post opportunities. You can often find some by googling your niche + guest post or there are some good services for this on fiverr also (Watch out there are mostly crap there tho)

So in conclusion if I made a new site I would:

1. Create profiles on all social media platforms
2. Do a press release (A lot of them are crap but you can find good ones)
3. Post good answers on forums in your niche with a link. One answer/link per day is a good goal.
4. Reach out for guest posts or find some opportunities on Fiverr or similar.
5. Create some directory links on popular directories - This will most likely not give you a huge boost, but it's easy and you may get some results at least.

ooo man, you beat your target. congratulation and keep update the journey please.

Good luck. Following your journey.

I understand that you are using 90% informative articles, but what about the remaining 10%?
Using buying guide articles for "best XXXX product", "xxx Product reviews" keywords like: https://expertphotography.com/best-street-photography-camera/
Right?

Are you targeting Low competition keywords or moderate competition keywords also?
Are you purchasing the keywords?

Hello and welcome to my journey. In this journey, I will try reaching my goal of 100$/day and maybe go even further, only the time will tell.
This journey was started around 6 months ago and these are the first websites I have created, but have gone through a domain change and other different big changes to the sites so the traffic has been fluctuating a bit. A lot of mistakes have been done on the way but the most of them should be fixed right now. I have done some backlinks to one of the sites, but not a massive amount.

Site 1:
This site is meant to be a big authority site and it contains a lot of information content and a few review articles. This site went through a domain change a month ago so the traffic has not been rising a lot yet, still have a lot of link building to do with the new domain. The article amount will stay stable for a while but will be trying to publish some 1-2 articles per month to keep it updated. A lot of these articles are outsourced.
The most of the traffic is going to the informative articles, that's why the earnings are pretty low for the traffic.

Stats:
  • 180 articles published, 160x ~ 1000-2000 words information articles and 20 review articles of ~4000 words each.
  • Traffic: 250-300 visitors /day ~150-240 from google search
  • Earnings: 70$ / Month~ from Amazon

Site 2:
This site is newly created and I'm only going to publish review articles like "Best of". The total amount of articles are going to be 10-15 and then slowly publish 1-2 per month after that. This site is created to test out really long articles with high-quality content and a few posts. Haven't built any links to this site yet and I'm going for some bigger keywords with over 1500 searches per month.

Stats:
  • 3 articles published. ~6000 words each
  • Traffic: 0-5 visitors /day
  • Earnings: 0$ /Month

Both of the sites are pretty SEO Optimized imo from what I've learned from reading a lot for over a year on the internet.

To do next:
  • Create a Press-Release for both of the sites in about 1-2 weeks for diversity links
  • Create & Publish ~6-8 more 6000-word articles to site #2.
  • Build links to both of the sites slowly. Will build some diversity links to the homepages first and then go for more links to the articles/posts. (I'm open to recommendations of where to get good links)
  • When the site 2 is ready, I will probably go and build another site.

I will try to update once a week with the earnings and the traffic to each site. If there is not a lot to report, I will wait with the updates to the next week. The site 2 will probably take a while to get things going with.

I created this journey to store some statistics over my sites and share the journey with you. I hope you enjoy it and if you have any questions, let me know! I'm pretty new to this world and would love all your suggestions.

i am new here and i want to learn more about back links and how it could be created and methods to link them with my blogger ?, if you have some free time to answer me ,i would really appreciate it.
Thanks a lot for your concern.

Following your journey. How often you will do press release submission?

Great journey, mate.

How did you lift the penalty from your 2nd site?

Also, how do you research for keywords/topics?

Congratz mate!
Now how do you plan to maintain the traffic and revenues?
