So, a little background story. Since I was about 12 always been into computers, learned VB watching youtube videos at very young age, also learned web development, design, and many other things.

Since I can recall I have always been bad student, I can't focus on things if they dont intrest me, and if they do, I often loose intrest in a couple of months (however I get very obssesed and can be working non stop for days without even eating/sleeping). I like to do and learn many things (everything I learn is either by trial and error or watching YT videos, or both), for example, I have been cutting me and my dad's hair since 2014, a few months ago I bough my first motorcycle and I have already assembled and dissasembled many parts, I've learned a lot about mechanics in this two months. I love to be able to do many things well, however as the saying goes, "apprentice of everything master of nothing".

I've tried many times to make money online, dropshipping, selling pokemon go accounts, selling instagram accounts, cpa, selling followers, building my own smma, print on demand, selling in game currency, etc

Some of these methods I've made some money, however nothing more than $5k in total.

My parents are good parents, they are caring, the only thing I don't like is that they are obsessed with studying college(college in my country cost about $2k/year).

I was supposed to finish business college this year, however I'm still in second grade out of 4 grades, I never really wanted to go to college (I've recently started my own business remotely in Estonia and have learned many things, I also think college is useless for something like business, I've always wanted to be my own boss and can't figure out why I need a useless degree to do so).

Also my girlfriend has recently finished her degree and I have to explain many things to her (even though I dont go to class anymore ) because she hasn't learned it in college. The more time passed the more I regreted going to college, I decided that I would tell my parents this year that I'm dropping off(my parents think Im going and Im getting 'ok' grades), I though that it would be a lot easier if I actually started a smma and had some earnings before doing so, in case they kick me out. For them this is like if I failed them specially my father.

(Also note I plan on repaying them aprox $6k for the college years once I make my first $10k)

I try to make money, build awesome websites for my projects and when I struggle a little suddenly I get an idea which I think is better and completely ditch the old one mid process, I cant control this, I'm quite self conscious, and I do notice when this happens, however the thing is ideas genuinely look more profitable than the old ones, I'ts been like this for years, not being able to finish anything. I've been thinking for a couple of years that maybe I have undiagnosed ADHD(attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) in small degree as im a very nervous and fidgety person and have quite alot of procrastination. (I once tried a pill for this disorder from a friend and I managed to study for a whole day 10h+, probably also placebo effect)

What Im looking forward to with this thread, is for someone who is similar to me in my behavoiur and has managed to overcome it on some degree.

I don't need any of the stop being lazy comments, I'm a very self centered and thoughful person, I know my weekneses and improve on them everyday. I'm being sincere telling you what I have analysed trying to be as objective as possible. I not looking for a miracle (PP monkey generator )but for some guidance on how to start building solid businesses. I feel childish, and its very frustrating when you are hyped on a new project and you can see in friends and family faces they dont believe in you, probably with reason as I almost never have finished a project.

Currently as I told you I own a Social media marketing agency for 2 about months now and yet still looking for my first client. I feel like everyday Im more anxious and desperate with making money. Also quite fearful of what my parents will think of me when I tell them I quit college.

PD. I just remembered something I hate about my parents, a couple of years ago someone who supposedly was a 'friend' offered me to do a website for his business and also manage social media etc, long story short, after designing logo and some mockups he din't pay me and my parents always use this experience which in my opinion is just a combination of bad luck and bad judgement, they use it to bash me with it telling me that I dont know what im doing, and also everytime I bring up I met with someone for business they say the same thing to bring me down.

Genuinely I think they do this to try and keep me focused in college, because for them either you go to college and then do a doctorate or you will be seen as a loser and will be forever poor.

Hi,

I was in similar situation when I was at uni. I thought it was pointless and wasted my time (I was doing part time education and I even funded it myself; back then, studies were 3 times cheaper than they are now in the UK). I told my parents I would drop out as I was struggling writing essays and I would always leave them for the last week or so.

Little did I know that I would find couple of really good friends at university even though I was super introvert, yet, managed to find some friends. Also, having this diploma now allows me to have better chances to find the job ... and back in a day I was very arrogant and I honestly thought my business would never crash (back then I was making $300-$500 a day) and I was wrong ... and then I needed to find a job and believe me or not, the diploma was useful. If I was someone hiring, I would certainly not care much about the grades but rather the fact that a potential employee finished it in the first place. This means that they are committed.

I was also someone who would not finish my own projects. You probably haven't found something that you absolutely LOVE. Once you find it - you will finish it. It also helps not to work on multiple project at the same time. If you have a budget, you can also hire VAs to do the boring bits for your projects ... although I am not sure how this is relevant to you/your business/projects.

I live in southern spain, here people just want a regular job etc, I was hoping to find like minded people at uni however they just want to work as accountants and everyone i've met is really basic and doesent have any intrest regarding entrepreneurship.

I don't think that the decision changing will stop, many of the projects I started I'm still passionate about but got stuck or ran out of capital.

I recognize starting things and not finishlijn them because I got a better idea. The origine of the problem is fear for failure. You want to be succesful, you want to prove your parents you’re a good kid..

The fact is that you are setting yourself up for failure if you don’t stick to your goals.

You have to find something that really interests you and you talk easily about. If you are not passionate about everything social media, why bother starting an SMMA? Because people tell you it will make money? Of course, anything makes money if you are good at it.

I am someone who loves languages and who studied Journalism. I didn’t end up in journalism, but use my skills for commercial content writing. This is my core business. And it works: I keep getting new assignments and new customers. I can do other ideas too, as long as my core business is here. If you have one source of steady income, you can experiment with others :).

Hope this helps.

Does it matter that those "friends" are basic? Now I don't meet with those friends that often, maybe 3-4 times a year but I don't calssify my friends by their "entrepreneurship level" you know. Friend is a friend and sometimes most "basic" friends can inspire you.

You also need to work on one project and make sure that you have enough capital until you finish it. I had to take couple of PayPal Capital Advances to finish mine. Quite convenient, I must say.

@mzonas also I have tried to get in contact with mentors etc but find it impossible, some kids in my country are building personal brands around entrepreneurship, but are probably less knowledgeable than me. They are coming up with crappy courses on forex, dropshipping etc, riding the entrepreneur hype right now. But not actually providing any value.

What I mean is that I need someone to talk to, share my ideas with, I haven't found anyone in my whole life who is intrested in this stuff, it's quite frustrating, I got some friends, but they are not intrested in this stuff, they just want to party or go out to eat or something, I know it sounds a bit harsh but I need someone to share value with, make it reciprocal, all my life i've been helping people selflessly and got nothing back.

Thanks Riccardo it helped a lot

Hi esminisoft,

I can't tell you the solution to your problem but I can give you some advice that will hopefully help you. What RicardoNL said is definitely good advice. You should investigate issues such as fear of failure, fear of success, guilt about being more successful than your parents, guilt about success without college, feeling that you don't deserve success. All of these things can be very subconscious and difficult to figure out.

I used to start lots of things and not finish them. I also went to college and did not finish and now I realize that had I have finished college I would have been less successful and happy than I am now. I am not saying that college is bad or people should not go but college is not for everyone and if college is not for you then you should not feel bad about not finishing.

What I learned is that the things I procrastinate on were the things I hated to do. Don't try to fit into what your parents, society or anyone else think is correct or best for you. You are the only person who can walk in your shoes and you are the best person to decide what is best for you and what path you should take in life.

I think the most important thing to realize is that you are not bad, wrong, broken or defective.

The other important thing is to find something that you are passionate about. Is dropshipping, selling pokemon go accounts, selling instagram accounts, cpa, selling followers, etc... something that you are passionate about and can't wait to start doing each day, or is it just a means to an end? If they are something that you are passionate about then great you are on the right track. If not find something that you would love to do if it was the only thing you could do for the rest of your life. It is harder than you think to come up with that.

It is very difficult to put the time in to grow a business that you are not passionate about what you are doing.

Another important lesson that I have learned is that you should never come from a place of desperation. Desperation will turn off clients, investors and almost anyone who can help you.

I also recommend finding a mentor. If you are trying to start a business it is much easier to learn from a mentor than to just try to guess on your own. If you can't find a person books can be great mentors as well.

As far as marketing people want to see results. Do you have a large social media following that you can demonstrate or success promoting other businesses in the past? If not it would greatly help to build a following or show success promoting one of your products or services on social media. The first client is always the most difficult to get and then it gets easier from there.

Don't get depressed or give up because the most successful people have failed many times before they were successful.

I hope that this helps you and wish you the best luck.
Thank you very much for this answer, it made me reflect on many things
