Can you explain social bookmarking

I am new to the social bookmarking aspects. I hear alot of people saying I can generate massive traffic.

I just signed up for delicious, but I have no clue what im doing.

Can someone please tell me exactly what it is I need to do to maximize the most out of bookmarking?

And also the best and easiest way to do this to get the best traffic.

Social bookmarking is basically the same thing as bookmarking a website in your browser except your doing it online and sharing it with other people. When you sign up for a social bookmarking site you bookmark pages you like and they get seen on the website where other people can bookmark them as well or vote for them which will make the bookmarks more popular and bring you more traffic to your site and profile which increases backlinks.

To make the most out of bookmarking, you really need to submit content that is worthy of being voted on and bookmarked by other people. If you are just submitting crappy content and spam, it will get treated as such and receive no traffic or backlinks.

It gives you instant backlinks from high page rank websites and if your content is real good, it will get a ton of traffic if others find it interesting. Like blacklinks said, having content that has the chance to go viral is really important if you are trying to tap into that "massive" traffic you mentioned. The idea is that you give a bit of a push yourself, and then hope the ball will continue rolling down the hill.

All you need is to create and drip in the content that is useful and that is worth getting bookmarked. giving away spun content is not going to take you any further.
