Chrome consumes a lot of RAM but it's much faster to work with. Chrome has a smooth, sleek experience while Firefox seems to lag when I switch tabs.

I'm using firefox for a decade, yes it used to be heavy on the system, but now its much lighter resources wise.
And I'm using firefox mobile on my iPhone as well, fuck safari.

I've been using Firefox for the past 10 years, and would never switch to chrome.
Yes, I've tried it, and speeds are comparable to FF, but knowing I'm constantly being tracked is annoying. Now I have Firefox set up to stop Google or Facebook tracking me.

I liked chrome, used to use it on my Linux laptop. YouTube really is a much better experience on it. But only due to its proprietary stuff. Chrome is like how internet explorer used to be, monopolizing everything. I tried it on my MacBook and honestly it started eating resources and killing my battery life. No thanks.

Honestly, they have the right to if they wanted to break yt in other browsers, YouTube and chrome are their products. Usually monopolies are bad but the web is different. Google has created a superb browser engine and the less engines the more standarized websites will become. Every web developer knows how much of a pain it is support 3 or more different browsers. Having one engine also means new web features will be adopted faster. Chrome changed the web for the better.

Those of you that say Firefox lags for you make me think that you've got a shit computer. I have Firefox installed together with a few plugins and I easily go above 10 tabs without any lag whatsoever. To those of you supporting Chrome why don't you ask daddy G to make it open source? I guess daddy G doesn't want you to see. That being said I really don't know why some of you think that Chrome spies on you. You have no real basis but assumptions and misinformation.

Another reason to move to Firefox is that Google doesn't seem to care about its users. I wanted to find out if I can remove or hide the "You" icon from the toolbar at the top. This icon is otherwise known as "people manager", "profile manager", "user icon", or "avatar icon". I found out that removing it or hiding it used to be possible in the Chrome Flags area but they removed this feature. It was also possible with a parameter (--disable-new-avatar-menu) that you had to add to your shortcut but they also removed this feature. Currently there is not a single way to remove or hide this annoying icon and if you look around the Internet you will find that there are countless users pissed of about this.
I thought Chromium would be better but I found out that it's no different to Chrome. Apparently they say that Chromium is not owned by Google but by the community. I think that this is pure bullshit as there are many community members that have requested for a feature to remove or hide the people icon from the toolbar yet this has not been done probably because it doesn't follow Google guidelines.
