Finding backlinks in ahrefs, but non on the sites when checking manually?

Hi,

Im analyzing a site, and when I check their links in ahrefs, it shows 200-300 reffering domains etc. But when i visits the sites, they seem as 100% real websites, and I cant find the links anywhere. Any idea what may have happend here? or if the links could be hidden in some way?

Actually I just found:

"<div style='display:none;'><div style='display:none;'>" and then the urls and anchortext just now. What kind of strategi is this?

It is probably injected through the nulled plugins or themes that the website owner is using.

They've ranked high for very competetive keywordsfor like 3 years
