Content and Linkbuilding question that kills me.

Lets make this short and simple.

Content question:

My idea is to build a pilar content with broad information about the product i have along with "about me" to define persona etc so i can rank on many keywords and have some content that is not there for monetization. Is it smart move or i should just jump in to money content?

Linkbuilding question:
Lets say i get 5 articles up and running with interal linking and everything ONPage handled.
I have Link built from Website A on Article 1, should i build the same link to Article 2 3 4 5 or should i avoid it and find another link to send to that post? (Not talking about web 2.0, talking about links like IBM profile links etc.)
I was doing this in the past and it was OKEY, what about this days?

I've always used the metric that after 3 links from a site you see diminishing returns. I'd be hard pressed to say it's less than that. Who wouldn't take 2 CNN links? More than 3? I just don't know.

Well, we are not speaking about link that powerfull, but something with huge DA that is offered for free around the forum

About link building, I think there is no problem in building link from same site to all the post.
Suppose I am an author on one content, someone else on other another. Then, in this case we both can keep the 2 different posts from same website in profile.

But if author is one man army, then you should avoid this, coz for soft niches it may result into manual action. Always, try to move along niche.
Rest is on Google's small spam control team.
