I just watched this video. This dude said backlinks from comments, forums and directories don't work

I just bought SCRAPEBOX and after watching this video, i felt i wasted money buying it.

What do you think?

Directories are highly spammed, don't go for it.

But comments and forums work like charm especially when they are niche relevant.

Keep obl < 10 for the best results.

Doesn't work in competitive niche. Most platforms are highly spammed anyway.

Finding new websites to comment on, forums to participate in can work well. Have to find out properly.

Directories work great for getting your NAP out there.

SEO is a collective effort rather than one man show.

Have seen really few people who rank their websites with one type of links (exceptions are there)

They still work. I have my site in a fair amount of directories and they all pass decent link juice... of course these directories are related to the business of the website. A plumbers directory doesn't do a taco truck site much good.

Comments work like a charm too. Try to keep them to relevant sites, but I have a few outliers and it hasn't hurt anything.

First don't ever just believe everything you hear, test it, as all sorts of people say all sorts of things based on their opinion and they never even try it and see.

Second building links is like 0.000001% of what scrapebox does and can be used for in relation to seo/IM. So you probably want to discover the countless uses before you feel wasted.

Third here is an example, its an old video, but the concept is still relevant.

if your competitors have same kind of links then it can work but if they have PBNs, Guest Posts and PBNs then those links wont work much.
Also They are considered low quality usually so best is to use them over tier1 or tier2 links.

Thanks for the clarity. I'm relieved now.

Basically, I'm new to SEO of a thing, so I just bought Scrapebox to help rank my Fiverr gig. However, i have these questions to ask

1. After harvesting and sending sending backlinks, I couldnt find my comments on "SUCCESSFUL links". How long do i have to wait to see comments on commented links?

2. I have a plan with Ahref, can this be of any help? i.e Ahref plus Scrapebox

3. As regards the COMMENT option in Scrapebox, must i use SYNTAX?. Cant I use a 1 comment for all Links?

Thanks

Well you have to wait as long as it takes for moderators to approve or deny your comments. Auto approve goes live straight away, but thats less then 1% of the urls you harvest.

Sure Ahref can be a help.

You can use 1 comment for all links, but that may or may not be the best seo effect.

Not sure what you mean by syntax, scrapebox posts what you give it, unless you mean spintax in which case scrapebox does support spintax.

i use sb a lot but not for scraping/posting. i just like the duplicate url remove tools lol

sb has shitty platforms for posting

links u mentioned work though

I have said it times without number, if you don't have a monthly budget of $500 to $1,000+ monthly for SEO then sign up as a freelancer.

Alternatively, look for job or business that doesn't require SE traffic.

All you mentioned are just junk links and waste of time, energy and resources.

I watch & follow that indian guy, love his videos, very informative.
And i must agree with him on the directories thing. As well as forums and blog comment.
I believe out of all the ways you can build backlinks those 3 are the most overused and spam among all.

Directories can be spammy, I don't use them. Comments and forums are great, but it helps to post relevant comments on relevant sites. I actually get quite a bit of referral traffic from those links.

The premise of the poster is that you can train your own, so you can add all sorts of platforms, if you don't like the ones it comes with as examples, then just add your own.

ofcourse but itz hard
