Most public proxies IMO are quite bad and shouldn't be used for long-term projects. Quite often they are vectors for loading malware / and using your computer to create a botnet. THey also let people look at all of your web traffic. Look at this (very!) entertaining video to show how it's done:

Worse comes to worst, you can write a script without much effort and scrape proxies from like 20 websites and that'll do the trick.

As others have said public proxies are crap for most things. If you want loads of proxies look at rotating proxies like storm.

Yeah i know storm is the best, but am looking for a free solution

its ok, its on 1 of my old thumb drives, its a url proxy scraper from
2004, you load your proxy url links, tool pulls proxys from links.
worked last time i tried it, but i moved on to paid scrapers
