It's still working for me alright although recent updates have made it harder, really it comes down to quality private proxies and good software
It's certainly harder than it was a year ago but by no means impossible.

Nobody is doing like it used to be .. some people manage to get no blocks with some low settings but how effective is that and how long it will last we will see. I personally think that days of automation or better to say spamming with M/S method on IG are over..

I'm still doing it web based for my important pages and also jarvee....jarvee mainly only works for me for either accounts that have a high trust factor that are not even logged into outside of jarvee (important) or brand new accounts made with the same ip used in jarvee that have never used any other ip and haven't been logged into outside of jarvee.

I only manage 2. Instadub(rarely) private bot(selenium). None. For myself I manage a couple accounts above 15k, but I've stopped automating those and am now trying to fix the engagement

I feel you on dm thing bro, I have previous customers that continuously spam my DM because they want services. Unfortunately, it's not possible right now.
