Hey guys, I saw this new feature "add alt text" when you wanna post a new pic and from the info that insta gave me I couldn't find the difference between this and the main caption of the pic. can you put keywords (hashtags) in description? what exactly it does?

alt text is the text behind the image (for example if the image is broken, the alt text will be shown). For example the logo in the Google search have alt text = Google:

Google is counting this as anchor text if there is link behind the picture. So you can put some keywords there..

Note that Instagram is already putting alt text to all of your images.

Yes, (I think) IG uses this to better train their AIs regarding Image recognition and classification (personal opinion)
