if you are so worried about your engagement like this, why don't you use an Instagram post scheduler, this way you can draft as much as you can and set the times and it will automatically post when you are gone

After 3-4 days Instagram sends me a "where are you" email, and the next post has actually higher engagement to get me back on track to post more.

I totally agree with this, you can even go further more, and they will notify some of your followers that your account posted something new after a while. Which brings more views and engagement compared to other regular post on a daily basis. I guess it's their way of trying to make you get hook into the platform by bringing you more results after you left for a while, notice also the notification that tries to repeat itself regardless whether you already saw it or not, that heart icon trying to show you notifs which kinda excites users when theirs a red dot. It psychologically attracts you, and when you are there, you will see more and more post which could keep you from scrolling to infinity and waste your precious time procrastinating. haha

Its not a big deal to do it every now and then and like some of the other comments mentioned it can have its benefits, but humans are creatures of habit and repetition. We dont like change, so its best to stick to a consistent posting schedule.
