Do You Believe in Karma?

When I do something nice to help someone, there is no ulterior motive. I like to help.

I believe in kharma just enough to be wary of anyone who says:
"Kharma is a bitch" since kharma is said to be the sum of all things we do.

Only vindictive people and manipulative people use kharma as a weapon,
such as when you call them on their shit and they raise trouble for you
with all their friends, for instance ...which is kinda bad kharma.

In retrospect, you are correct.

I think most of us didn't really think of it in a religious context ( I did not )
and not even in a moral/ethical context

...but more in a cause/effect - action/reaction - deed/consequence context which may be important to the mental ( and thus physical ) health of members engaged in certain methods, perhaps.

In Poe's "The Tell Tale Heart" the guy kills the fella, burries him under
the floor and is driven insane by his own guilt because "he got away with" murder....or so it seemed.

I sure nobody will be banned for being involved in this post,
but also understand if we had to be and if this thread was removed.

karma is just another misinterpretation of non correlated coincidences that we are naturally programmed to take notice of.

the guidelines for what can constitute 'karma' are so loose it's no wonder people make connections when they want to.


and on a moral level i agree that if you are doing something just to gain karma points there's something wrong. no different
from people who do nice things just because they think it will help them get into heaven or whatever religion they prescribe to.

Only the Fit survive.....before it used to be like that for every human being if you feel bad for the kiddos donate.....I did that once and the child that I was sponsoring was the same child that had died 2 weeks prior that my aunt was sponsoring....... They are poor because we say so and who exactly are we to say that they are poor....we say they are poor and dying so we can get more money to feed our fat bellies.... could be they are the happiest people on the planet and those camera shots are in the morning when they just woke up.

I don't just believe in karma.

I do believe and know about the "law" of cause and effect, which is broader than karma because affects not only personal life.

I used to have a co-worker (back in the days) who would swear she was a very Christian woman and that she wouldn't do anything bad to anyone because she believed in Karma. I laughed every time she would say that out loud (not to her face of course) cause she was convinced Karma had something to do with the Christian Faith. I am a firm believer in both law of karma and law of attraction. To me Karma is momentum of energy or momentum of thought or momentum of consciousness.

Everything in this universe has momentum. Whatever you think, say, act has momentum.

For example, I have been a smoker for 21 years. That's my bad karma. It's much harder for a 21 year smoker to quit because the smoking momentum is very strong.

Can I quit now forever by applying law of attraction? yes ofcourse I can if I trully believe that I can do it and I want it badly.

Problem is it is not as easy as this. It is usually much easier for someone who have been only smoking for 3 days to quit because the momentum is lesser

Smoking is just a very trivial example, changing momentum is not that easy.

The strange thing about law of karma is ... if you expect a reward for a good deed you have done. You won't get anything.

Karma is not a reward/punishment system or someone/an entity reward you . It's a cosmic balancing system.

You want proof?. Go to a local police station and beat a cop , you are going to be jailed. You may not be jailed if you are a very rich person but what people don't understand is the result of good karma or bad karma doesn't have to happen in this life time period.

Karma is like a saving account, suppose you have $ 1 million , you lose $ 100.000 in Casino but it's not a problem to you because you still have a lot of money .

If one had bad karma in the past live can he live happily and rich in this life time period?, Yes of course he can. Karma is not fate. Just do a lot of good karma , for example, study diligently, work diligently , be kind to everyone , have habit to invest and save money. Those are all good karmas.

Negative karma from the past can be neutralized/changed

How about instead of doing "good" things because of karma (which is the same as a person who is good because they are afraid of going to hell), you realize that you are doing good things because of who you are..

I am a Buddhist and I must say Hell or Heaven is not a physical place/court or a torture room, it's a state of mind . Some who is extremelyyyyy in distress/fear is in hellish condition

You don't have to wait until the next life to witness hell or heaven, you can experience it here and now...

Everything in this universe is state of mind.Everything is mere an illusion that feels very very real Hell or heaven is not reward nor punishment system. It is self inflicted.
