I have a contract with certain schools to use First Draft as an educational tool, and the one you used is not one of them. The request form asks people to use a "Business or college-approved e-mail only."

Quick Note: If you're wondering which schools use First Draft, ask your administrator if yours is one of them. Do not guess and send a request without knowing ahead of time. Use a business e-mail address instead.

First Draft is available in the U.S. only due to its US-specific content and US-specific AI.

I tried to connect to the site on mobile phone and with a new IP and also got this error. The problem corrected itself after I tried again later. I have no clue as to why. So if you get the same error, just try again later...

Update:

The website has now been opened to the following countries on a trial basis only.

• Canada
• United Kingdom
• Australia

Based on how things develop (i.e. feedback), the site may or may not remain open to these countries. If the discrepancy among linguistic preferences proves to be too much, for example, I'll have to restrict access until I can develop a product that's more suitable for international use. As of now, the software will remain focused on U.S. writing standards and expectations. If you write content for an American audience, First Draft may indeed be helpful as @smacker suggested.
