Question about 'backlink relevancy'. How important this is in 2019..??

Hello, all my 'SEO masters' friends. Today I have a question for you all.

So, I have a adult site 1.5 year old and I want build link for it..

I was reading somewhere that quality of the link and relevancy of the link are two major factor for ranking in 2019.
This means a backlink will be more powerful if it's comes from niche relevant site than non-niche relevant site.
So, if I build link from non-adult sites, even those links have high DA-PA metrics, are those links helpful to rank my site..?? Or I should build link to my adult site from adult sites only and not from general site..??

Note- I was analyzing link profiles of some of my competitors, and surprisingly found that 40% of their links are from non-niched, non-adult sites. So, is this 'niche relevancy' thing a myth..?? Or it is very true..??

Without revealing too many details, I created a multi-threaded GSA campaign, set to ultra aggressive, with the worst anchor text and spun articles as a test. It shot the target to top of first page of google for the keywords, and has remained there for over 6 months. Still top. It makes me really wonder if you really need to be so clever to outwit Google

on high authority websites not only give you the ranking in Google SERP
but also the huge amount of traffic on your website

What about niche relevancy..?? I.e creating backlinks from general high authority for adult site..??
Way for a SERP boost or a penalty..??

Mate it's an adult site, google doesn't give a fuck about them, just have a good on-page (no redirections, tab oppenings, overlaying ads etc) and blast the shit out of it with GSA

Still it's better to be safe than sorry, I think..
Isn't it abnormal that you own a hardcore adult site, and all your backlinks are from general site..??

Thanks for your input mate. But still isn't it a good idea to make at least a few backlinks from some adult sites..??

I wish i could say that relevancy does not matter, but according to my own experience, it DOES. There need to be at least a few relevancy signals because it would look very very strange otherwise. Say you have a Site about dadminton: How likely is it, that a legit badminton site has no links from other badminton sites? It is 100% impossible. I can't tell you how big the influence of relevant links really is, but my sites that are built on a foundation of relevancy perform better and are able to move more quickly through resistance levels.

Yeah, that's describe the thing better.
100% non niche relevant links are surely doubtful in eyes of big G.
However, in my guess I surely can add 20-30% non-niche relevant links in my backlink profile.

I agree with juijuie. While adult website's SEO as a whole is a bit different, then backlink relevancy does still matter.

Yeah I would say some relevancy for T2 and much more for T1.. but for anything above that like parasites... blast it with everything lol
