Niche site to $2.500,00

Hi guys,

I've been doing the SEO stuff for 5-6 years now. I would not call myself an expert, but I'm good at what I'm doing.

I've sold most of my websites for a lot of money that I've more freetime. But I can not do nothing so I decided to start a new project.

In the past, the projects were in my native language, this project is going to be in english and focussing on the US / UK market.

I discovered a great niche, in the health sector, that I'm going to rock. My budget for this website is not set yet, probably something between 6 and 8k.

My plan is to push this site to a nice income (>$2.500,00) and than flip it for factor 28-32.


What has been done so far?

I've bought an expired domain (not because it has good backlinks, because I needed a domain name that sounds legit...nowadays all good domains are gone) and added a few hundred words on the home page that Google can index it.

This weekend I'm writing the briefings (they need to be good) and hire an author that I found on Upwork. The first articles (800-1600 words) will be published next week.

Hint: Don't start publishing $$ content at the beginning, it will be a lot easier to build backlinks without!

I'll create 4-5 high quality articles in the next few weeks and seed them and hopefully get a few backlinks.

I already spent $150 for the expired domain. It was a domain that was previously used by an legit organisation so it sounds very trustworthy.

My plan is to revive that trust and "fake" the organisation. Other blogs will link to it if it's an authoritative looking source.

The content (4-5 articles), that will be published, are going to:

• be the best piece of information that you can find regarding that topic.
• have at least one awesome infographic.
• have multiple images, illustrations and videos.
• have a great content ux.
• be 3,500 to 4,500 words long each.
• be reviewed by a PHD.

I plan to spent $1,500 for this.

After publishing I'll reach out to other blogs and pitch my site.

With $$ content I mean your money content: Product reviews, Roundup articles and so on. In general that's affiliate content. Wait for it until your site has some traction.

Update:

I hired a writer for $0,05 / word and an editor / proofreader for $0,02 / word. When the proofreader is done I already have a very nice text. To secure quality the article is getting fact checked by a PHD.

So overall like $0,1 / word. That's expensive but worth it.

When the PHD says the article is fine I'm getting my graphics department on it. They create custom illustrations and infographics. That means I'll get the BEST content out there.

Once this workflow is created I'll create 4-5 high quality articles and start doing outreach to build some links.

I know you know what your doing, but I have a lot of experience purchasing from different writers, many writers indeed. You may be able to get better quality articles for cheaper to maximise profits. I was quite surprised by the quality of some when others were more expensive

I'm not interested in dumping prices. My writers have a great expertise on their topic. Nowadays author reputation is important. I want to build a longterm project that survives next Google updates

I think you're over pushing the expenses. Did you do a diligent research on the expired domain you bought and see what backlinks are pointing to it. It would be nice to continue content in the niche the expired domain has gained grounds and authority.

As I said I bought the domain because of the name, not because of the links. The domain was offline for like 1 year. It still has some nice links so price of $150 was fine.

It's good to see you are paying good money for health content. Too many people here think cheap content is worth it.

1. I just send the article to my PHD guy and he will read and fact check the statements / arguments.

2. Yes, the writer get's a text outline with an editorial guide. I tell them how to the research. Everything written is based on studys, videos and other authoritative sources.

3. I don't have personal experience in that niche. But I always suggest to spend a few days reading wikipedia articles and try to understand them.

4. I'm planning to add amazon affiliate content as soon as the normal content ranks and first links came in. Maybe also adding display ads if the site gets decent traffic.

Depends on your strategy. If you wanna rank with your homepage it should be treated as normal page. In this case the homepage is only going to rank for the brand name so it will be some kind of hub.

Yes, Upwork. Never tried BHW writers and I wouldn't for money sites.
