1. Install plugin Google XML Sitemap for Videos.

2. Publish one post with random YouTube video embed. (no need to do this if you already have posts with YouTube embeds)

3. Go to Tools -> Video Sitemap

4. Click Generate Sitemap

5. DON'T ping Google (yet) and don't close the page.

6. Go to your cPanel or whatever server back-end soft you're using and locate file (on the new tab): sitemap-video.xml

7. Edit the content of the file

- you will see one or more <url> blocks like this.

- it's all wrapped in the </urlset> tag make sure to NOT remove it at the end
- YouTube video and other content can be the same (works for me ) but if you want to be hardcore you can change them to relevant ones
- there shouldn't be any problem about submitting all URLs in the same file, from the same root (I do it all the time) - however, for maximum safety you might wanna spread them over few more sites.

8. Go back to WordPress Video Sitemap page

9. Click XML Sitemap highlighted link to preview your sitemap
- you should see thumbnails of your video(s) and when you hover over them links to your web 2.0s, if you don't something needs fixing

10. Submit your sitemap - click the ping Google highlighted link

I suggest you try it with 5 sites and see how it goes. Then do the rest.

once the URLS indexed, do you remove them from sitemap, to eliminate any footprint?
also, do you still follow this method?

I don't bother removing them.

I just replace them on the next run.

Yes, I am actually and still works.

i think if you can use seo keyword come first in your post title thats way it will help to index your post.

Yes, still the good 'ol plugin.

It's good to also install plugin that can detect spider visits so you can see the bot. It will be called Google Video

  1. how many links do you include each time you do this?
  2. is there a max number you dont want to go over?
  3. how often do you update the xml file?

1. Around 10.
2. I never did more than 50 in a single submit.
3. Each time I do a new submit. Between that I don't touch it really.
 
I have some good luck with Bing Webmaster tools. You can submit 10 a day and Bing seems to go out of it ways to try and be the first to do stuff before google. And Google seems to somehow find the links faster because Bing has indexed them. Seems crazy right ? Try it out its free.

i was able to index and have google search console pick up my doodlekit post, by sharing it through my social media accounts.

really appreciate sharing your insight on this approach!! it is helping. waiting for google search console report to get updated so that I can share my results.

exactly how you are adding URL to bing webmaster tool?? are you talking about adding url and verifying each url through file uploads?!

dont remember.... but i think it took 1-2 weeks.

also I remember that I did not have to do anything other social shares for getting this one to work. If it involved more effort, I would have marked it in my excel sheet.

This doesn't work now
I Installed the xml site map and there is no option in tools :(

Yes, it does work.

Default sitemap doesn't plugin doesn't give you the option to edit. You need another one for it.

If you don't have it, you have to edit the sitemap file manually.

I tried submitting the video sitemap in the search console
and it gave error. but when i clicked on the ping google and it succeeded.
