Not just shares from within a post... and not talking about tracking the shares from within FB on a post... but how many times the post is shared all across Facebook--whether they visit and share from within the social buttons or not

Most, if not all plugins will show the global share count on FB for the URL only and not just button clicks. That is because this data is retrieved from the OpenGraph API from Facebook itself. The other most common provider is sharedcount.com which is a third party count aggregator.

You'll need to setup an app and fetch an app token and and authorization key.

I use Social Snap - it is pretty light weight.
