Any ideas how to monetize YouTube playlist?

Hello community,

I am the owner of music playlist in YouTube platform. At the moment, it has over 3.3 milion total views (created in 2018) and currently generating over 400K monthly views (still increasing every month). Playlist content is 100% music videos. Also, views are 100% real, no bots, etc.

I think that it may be kind of a passive income for me because with smart solution it can drive a lot of quality traffic to website, other channel, etc.

I'm wondering it is any possible way to monetize this? Maybe someone faced similar situation? Thank you for your answers.

You cant. videos of others can only be monetised by owners, compiling playlists means nothing. you are helping those guys generate more income though, maybe reach out to them if they would like to tip you. (i doubt they will), thats about as close you can to get some money from what you are doing.

Since the content is focused on music niche, grab affiliate links to related merchandises like printed t-shirts and edit the description of each video accordingly. Hopefully, it might convert for such a good volume of traffic.

What if you scale it up and give it as service to add others music into the playlist or create your own channel and drive traffic from the playlist. I would love to get views from playlist.

I would build an Instagram & Facebook account associated with the Youtube playlist, and I would run some instagram & facebook ads
advertising that you are selling "Placements" on your Youtube Playlist. Could be done using the playlist cover art alone, or make a video showing your analytics and how to submit to your playlist!

I work in the music industry, and Instagram & Facebook are both full of ready to pay artists.

-contact the owners of these videos and let them know that their songs are going to be pulled out from the playlist if they don't pay.

This is only going to work if the views of these videos are actually coming from your playlist

I think the problem is that no one really watching playlist description, they should listening to music, isn't it true?

Contact New Artists niche based and pitch them Playlist placement. For example #2 on the playlist for $50 per month, #1 for $200 etc. You can find lots of artist new artists in sound cloud and Instagram.

Yeah selling spots in the playlist is the best bet for sure. There are an unlimited pool of artists in whatever niche your playlist is in that would love placement on something generating that many organic views. Basically just payola for the modern age, plenty of Spotify playlisters do it.

That's a nice interesting concept and method to have artists/producers pay you to be in your playlist to give them extra recognition and exposure.

Another method is the Tony Montana System where you get paid off of content ID.

This has been said already but after you get artists/producers to pay you start playlists also on spotify because you can get paid by them in several different ways and you have a lot of traffic. You can put as many links in the description you want on YT but I usually put 1 or 2 money links just be sure not to put raw links and don't forget contact info.
