Looks like the update has begun. Seeing good movements across all the keywords for one of my sites. No major changes yet on other sites.
Too early to comprehend. Will wait until the dust settles.

Also, The site was hit by the medic update. Many keywords from the first page were pushed to the third and fourth page. Zero link building has done since then.

Rankings starting to drop... At this point i'm pretty sure people at Google have no idea what they are doing. They're like "hey, let's tell people we are doing a major core update, but what we'll really do is shift a bunch of websites up and down the SERPs... then on the next update we'll revert some of the changes and see what happens..."

Do you really think this? Or is it just a meme? Most of the guys at Google have advanced degrees in computer science and engineering from the top 10 schools in the USA. They see and understand the inner workings of the search algorithm. They absolutely understand it on a level which you will never comprehend in your life.

I had been wondering about this myself.

What I noticed on my site that was hit in March, was it bounced back (mostly) at the End of April / beginning of May for 5 days, then dropped off again, then came back a couple of days ago (mostly) and sitting nicely now. It does appear as if they have been making small changes to test/rectify March's update/mistakes, and are now confident so being more vocal about it.

Agree 100%. I think they made this update very public because it's a fix for march/may.

What do you mean by that? You didn't really say what about YouTube videos does anything related to SEO.
