Hi, I really having some blockages in my way with themes. First is I don't have money to invest on wordpress themes and standalone landing page builders. So, I am confused on how should I proceed?

I need to make a fast responsive 2-3 page affiliate site for ppc ads. I was seeing Festingers free theme so I have some queries:

1. We cannot activate themes downloaded from the internet right?
2. Suppose in any way we are using themes downloaded from the internet, can we stop the themes from getting auto-updated?

People gets bounced on crappy looking sites. :(

What to do? I really need to make a fast responsive 2-3 pages affiliate site in a free way.

Yes, there are many free Wordpress themes in the market you can use.

Seriously u really think I had not thought of that? Those stock themes are not exactly conversion friendly.

If you have a page template idea i would just go with an empty theme and a page builder.
I would suggest a combination of hello theme (free) and elementor builder, which guarantee very fast loading and custom personalization.

Yes but elementor , beavor builder are paid plugins.

I'd stay away from WP if you're looking for something fast (as you should if you're into affiliate marketing). Try using something light weight.

Building websites for free isn't really working if you want to make some money out of it. Investing your money in a good theme or plugin will be a good start.
I do like to answer your questions.

1. The activation of WordPress themes and plugins depends on their security measures (build by the original developer). Most of the themes are quite easy to activate. Some of the theme developer requires an active license to e.g. import demo content from their servers. In most cases, this cannot be bypassed. An easy way to do this is to import the demo content manually to the website. This makes it possible to import demo content without activation. And the majority of the WP items is working without a license key.
2. Auto updates are not working without entering a valid license key. This cannot be bypassed in any way, because the updated files should be downloaded from the servers of the developers.
