Do you always add your money sites? If not, why not?

I know the benefits of adding them, but a lot of sites will not be added as the owner does not do SEO, and they do well.

Interested in your thoughts or experiences of not adding a money site to GWC.

Always. You can find plenty of keyword opportunities with that tool.
It's like a "free semrush" for this very specific task.

What I don't always use is Google Analytics. I prefer to user al tracking methods.

Google doesn't use webmaster tool to gather your information. It uses it to tell you some of the information it has already gathered about you

Definitely. You get organic traffic from G, and GSC is kinda a way G tells you what your websites are like in its eyes. I don't see any reason not to add my sites here.

Most people tell me, and older threads in blackhatworld despises webmaster tool, as it seen as a spam bait for Google.
Google rules say that all links must be natural. Many people get into trouble for building links through webmaster tools
In this thread, people in the blackhat SEO subforum, recommending webmaster tools, some people are just clueless...

When you use GSC though, you will know when it is.

. Ok Guys,

I am sure you know Google collects data from Google WMT. But this is the first time I realized how much they are tracking gwmt. They are literally data mining your info. Ok here is the details of what happened in the last 1 week.

I had about 3-4 sites in the GWMT tools account. I never used Gwmt much but i wanted to play with it about crawl rates,indexing etc. I added like 16 more sites in 1 week.

The first weird thing i saw was "Google" visits. I started seeing awful lot of google visits to the pages i add to the WMT account. The weird thing is the visits are not from bots because Statcounter can tag a bot and also i can see the device etc they are using to visit the site. I see visits from ireland,uk,india,usa google.

After that 3-4 days ago first manual action penalty happened. And today 6/20 got manual action penalty. It is like a virus spreading through the Gwmt account.I am 100% sure when they catch a manual action penalty they are digging deeper to your other sites.

Now the manual actions are pure spam because of spun content from other sites mostly. You can say it is normal right? I used spun content and sites got hit. I added 5 of my other sites that have spun content just like the ones on a new gwmt account. NONE of them has manual actions.All are fine.

Only 4-5 of the sites were important for me. So i don't care much. But i am telling you even if you don't use Black Hat techniques DON'T USE GWMT.

I can say I am really old here. I lived all these articles and there were always two sides of the story.. its argument, not facts.

As for the part you quoted... Google visits is the only thing we hope for. We even pay money for it.

Thinking Google webmaster is the reason you got a penalty is pure absurd and irrogant. So, every new website added in webmaster, someone in google team says hey, we need to check it out!!!

You get manually checked depending on your current rank, and the nature of niche you are targetting.

What is realistic, if google caughta one of your website spamming, or got manual action.. it will use your webmaster account to know other websites and check them too. This is a fact.

So, don't link your spammy together in one account. And again, google crawlers know about your website more than you do. You need info from them, not the other way around.

Yes G may use all of its tools to gather information about our sites, but I don’t think this is the case. You got manual actions because of your site itself, not because of it being listed in GSC. So sooner or later you would be penalized, even without knowing if you didn’t have your site added.

I'm not giving the wrong information. You cannot do this generalization on an event where only 1 person lives. Again, I am using GSC and strongly recommend it. This is my personal opinion.

You better make sure all your links are natural, and not been manually built...

I've read so much on people falling into trouble for unnatural links, and linking all their money sites...

Plural for anecdotes is data, I think I've read and experienced enough to say Google Search Console is a no-go if your links are unnatural.... PBN is out of the question ....
