I should also add that even if your channel is not monetized, the idea of building up a few thousand subs and then creating your own original content should be entertained.

I found out that it is better to use a monetized YT account to post such videos on trending topics.
Because you can have a video which hits a Million view in a week, You don't want to miss the opportunity to make money when you.
Concerning your Adsense If I were you I'd link my channel to my main Adsense account.
The NAME of he YT Channel ''IS TO MAKE MONEY AS CLEAR AND FAST AS POSSIBLE" Before you get demonetize.

Here's an update! I got a reply from YouTube team a few hours ago saying this channel (my experiment one) got APPROVED for monetization! They welcomed me to the YouTube Partnership team. Here is the BUT. All 5 of my 6 videos posted said it was "not suitable for most advertisers" so it doesn't appear to be "monetizable" right now. I did apply for a manual review to see if they might overturn the status.

The odd thing is the 1 video that is monetized (has the green symbol) is the viral video that has 350K views. Kinda weird cuz that video is pretty much the same stuff as the other videos that got flagged as "not suitable for most advertisers". So I don't know if it was a human error an A.I. error and a manual review might get it approved or it might get the 1 video that is monetized flagged also. This is all an experiment and I am gaining some very good insights here.

It seems that if my videos are "not suitable for most advertisers" then everyone else who is doing this same niche are not getting monetized either. VERY INTERESTING. I thought maybe these youtubers were making good money but apparently maybe making nada. I also don't get what consitutes as "not suitable for most advertisers"...such a broad and generalized saying that could cover anything.

The good news is the channel is approved and I might be able to run OTHER experiments on this channel to see what cash I can make. In the meantime, I'm still trying to figure out how to get people to donate money via paypal or patreon or any other sort of service like those to get paid when Youtube won't pay you.

That's really cool dude! With youtube you just never know what you get. So at least you will be making some money on the side now unless something happens with copyright on the side, or if youtube (unpredictable) decides to demonetise you again (as they usually do out of nowhere). Whatever says not suitable for advertisers means there might be a word, keyword, something in the video title, description that triggered that. Or it could be the content itself, just send it for manual review and they usually approve (or disapprove) monetisation within a day or two as long as its over 1000 views. (From my experience anyway)
Goodluck, just watch out for copyright issues, those are the worst.

Oh and to add to the above, the videos you already made wont make much money since the views have sort of stalled/slowed down. Their good days are over, so you need to keep making new videos. Try at least one video a day if you can, that will keep subs growing and steady. Keep updating this thread to let us know how it goes.

I wish you and your adsense account the best of luck, sometimes YT works in odd ways. I'll be honest though I've heard of people also making bank on videos, but then having the adsense account frozen shortly before payout (a month or two down the line).
My advice - take whatever you can, make sure payout method is set up and ready to go and set to lowest threshold.
To be safe, if your good at making things slicker, editing and cutting bits out, maybe you could safely make your own videos next time.

Yes, because it has slowed down, I won't get a penny from the first 350k views, but whatever it can get from here on out, I could get some pocket change. I also got my first patreon! Interesting experience....we'll see if I can get more patreons down the line.
Yes, I try to cash out when it reaches the $100 mark which is the minimum amount one can cash out at. These are interesting times.....makes you feel like you are only limited by your imagination. Think big, think creatively....it feels like there is an endless amount of possibilities!

So it does help to send in a manual review as it seems the initial judgment was set by some automatic youtube algorithim or youtube's A.I.? The weird thing I don't get is that all the videos are virtually the same content matter...I'm not sure why 1 would not be approved while all the others were approved as suitable for advertisers. Weird.

its the word, check the words you use in titles and descr. some can trigger the 'not suitable'
How are the new videos coming along?

Good point. I better check and see if it might be the wording. I'll try to keep an eye on that and see if a certain word or phrase was triggering it.

I uploaded 2 more videos over the past couple days and both of them monetized (neither of them said it was not suitable for most advertisers) so that's good.
They aren't viral like the 1 video I have that went viral but they are getting views and my subscriber list keeps building..... I can already feel the difference how having a lot of subscribers instantly give your video views seconds after uploading them. Even within 10 seconds of uploading the video, I already get 3 or 4 comments and 6 likes literally seconds right after uploading....such a weird yet powerful experience. I can only imagine what it must be like for those that are in the million club. I have 2 patreons now haha....very interesting.... I will just keep trying this formula as long as I can and see what happens.

Nice! Yes its a good feeling when you have many subs and many views. And the more views and subs, the better you become at making these videos. Hows it going now?

You just got one fact wrong, and that's about the Copyright... Remember that a creator (of any kind of content) does not have to "copyright" their work...
UNLESS they explicitly state that they post the content under creative commons license (or other similar license), you can't legally reuse/republish the content in any form (at least not without their permission).

So if they report you, or anyone else does, your chances to keep the video/channel alive are zero.
 
I made a channel just to test what would happen if i uploaded a big time music creators content.
All that happened was i basically got an email from youtube saying the owner will be getting some or all the profits. No copyright strike.

Thanks I appreciate your feedback. I do realize the longer and the bigger this channel goes, one day it might get demonetized once someone decides to report it as reused or copyrighted content even though I'm editing it, so I think I'll just need to get as much out of it as I can before it's over. I'll also learn in the process what works and what doesn't and gain experience that could help me on future experiments.
 
UPDATE: the experiment channel is still going strong and money is now coming in. I've already linked it to my adsense account but no earnings show up there even though it shows up in youtube revenue report. Is this normal? I did some searching and found some videos about people saying that starting in 2018 I believe google adsense will no longer show youtube metrics or something like that? Is that the reason or is it that I have to wait until the 15th of each month for the earnings to show up?

A 2nd video has just gone viral in the past couple days. It's now over 200k views. The first viral video is approaching 500k. My other videos (about 6 others) are steadily bringing in views but nothing "viral" ...hovering between the 10k - 50k views. All of this since early may when i started the experiment. Channel didn't get approved for monetization until May 16th.

I'm not expecting this to last forever, so I'm hoping to just milk out as much as I can while it's good. Patreon is not getting me much...I have 3 patreons lol but I was surprised 3 people even donated...how nice! 10k subs and 800K total views since early may for an experiment that really anyone can do....I'm quite surprised. I'm wondering what other areas or methods I can use to try and earn more revenue? If I was able to sell "merch", that would probably be another income stream, but the problem with that is I think I'd be giving away my personal information when I have to ship the merch to my viewers? Or is there a way to anonymously ship merch so that the customers don't know where it came from?

Maybe you can find something related to your channel from Aliexpress and try drop-shipping.

Most people sell merch from Teespring. You just need to upload your artwork to make the merch products on Teespring. But it would all be handled by Teespring.

But wouldn't the recipient know that the item is coming from china? I would need a way to ship or dropship something that doesn't reveal a specific address of where it's coming from. Maybe just a country or state name is fine with a name on it, but no specific address to pinpoint it. Is that possible or even legal?
 
Thank you! What would you advise some good ways in up scaling this? Opening more channels like this one? I feel like I would just be too repetitive or possibly even oversaturating the niche possibly drawing more unwanted attention? Make a facebook page or twitter page? I do have a few experiment facebook pages that are moderately successful (in other niches), but nothing where I have made or know how to make any revenue from them.

Thank you....seems like an interesting idea! Would Teespring reject my merch idea if they see that I am not the owner of it?
For EXAMPLE: if I wanted to make some tshirts to sell of Avengers and I just sent them my own edited Avengers tshirt designs (simply using other artists work and just changing the slogan or title etc), does teespring reject it or do they not care? Could I make my own Michael Jordan tshirts or Hello Kitty or use any logo sign as my own tshirt design?
