Content question for my local site

so let’s say I have a carpet cleaning website.

I have a home page with 1000+ written words and images.

On the main menu I have about 10 different service pages for cleaning upholstery, rugs, pet odor removal, etc.

I want to have a lot more content..

Can I just keep adding filler pages (won’t be in main menu) that are targeting specific keywords? People viewing my site probably won’t read these pages because they will be linked within my service pages.

Does this make sense?

Actual articles in your website, you feed links to them and the juice will pass through

I wouldn’t call them filler pages, but you do need high-quality, keyword-focused, informative content on your site, for SEO purposes. In the case of a carpet cleaning service, you might have articles explaining the best way to wash carpets, and all the other things you mentioned — pet odor removal, stain removal, etc. The supporting pages, if we’re going by that SILO strategy, would be about 1000, 1500 words each and they would each focus on targeting one or two keywords.
