I think both Google and Facebook knows very well who you are and what you want, given the Google/Facebook profile + their network of facebook plugins, GA plugins on most of the sites available.
Correct me if I'm wrong, imho, traffic arbitrage is simply:
Simply buying cheap from source X and sell directly to source Y wouldn't work.
- Buy good traffic that is highly targeted to your site's niche
- Utilize effectively the traffic: attractive content, smart navigation, and encourage the users to share the content
- Goal is to multiply the views and improve user retention on the site
That is broadly correct. Depending on how you are monetizing, the niche is less important than the quality of the traffic--both in terms of human-ness and whether they're interested in the story/content they click on. If they go through 10 pages of a slide show, you probably made money. But buying cheap traffic from source x to y an work provided that they're real people. You also want a diverse set of traffic sources--if you're just using one source, you leave yourself open to getting flagged. Better to have three-five.
@AdvertisingGuy can you share your tracking pixel stats?
If there is some way to easily share file (anonymously!), I can put up a csv for your to download. Below are a few screenshots, I collect a lot more data than what is listed below. Most of these will contribute in some way to determining if a visitor is a bot.
