It's a syndication system that has developed a network and partnerships. It's legal U.S business with millions of revenue and years of business. There is no single "man" in the middle, it's a whole system and business model that can't disappear from earth like that.

This isn't buying the service "in" from some connections with the media outlets, you are the connection who provides the content to the system.
