Can i rank my website with only forum signature links as they get easily indexed and their are forums who allow to insert signature links.

One of friend's website just came till 3rd page from 5th page by just doing forums submission when i check his backlinks i can only see signature links.

Forums do provide signature links , but that's not enough
You have to do other submission to rank your website

not one backlink but he has more than 250 backlinks with same anchor tags.

No, but they will drive natural traffic as well. Especially if you're a regular contributor.

Try to bring it to 1st page and it will be impossible!!

You will need to diversity your backlink to rank it on 1st page.

OP 98% of the people answering on this thread, never tested such a thing. You need to give it a try and see how it goes. Trust me such testing gives best results if not, you will learn valuable things.

Forum signature helps only to an extent.

ANY link is helpful - it is the 'value' of the help it gives to ranking that is the key - a link of low quality may bring traffic and traffic brings ranking through 'popularity'. A high quality link may not bring traffic but will bring authority. A combination is key to a good backlink profile - so like others have said you will still need to diversify .... but, yes, signature links are worthwhile regardless of what Google may tell you.

forum signature links do work for some small niches, but if you aim to rank higher contextual links work the best, links should be surrounded with text
