Why Google Show So many result When I use google Operator site:

can anyone please guide me when i use site:domain.com/spefic-urll then google shows me so many indexed pages what does that means why it show like that

then try "http://domain.com/sample-page" with quotes.

to know if your domain or homepage is indexed try site:domain.com if you don't see domain.com or your homepage in first result, then either is a penalty or you are not indexed yet.
