Which external links are best? Blogroll or contextual link article?

One of my related blog owner accept by links. So, Can you please advise which external links are best for my money site?

1. In the blog roll widget, Put the brand name as anchor text. So the link will appear every pages on that blog. I think brand name as anchor is much safe when compare to the actual keyword.

Or

2. Write one article about 1000 words and put the contextual links to the money site and then put the "article link" in the blogroll widget? So, the link juice will passes on that page and I think the article might be the stronger one when compare to other internal pages.

Please advise your best? Thank you.

I'd go with option #2. You get a contextual link, and crazy internal linking to that article. For me it's a no-brainer.

There is a lot of skepticism with sidebars. I've never found any evidence that sidebars are penalizing. In a blog lets say with 100 pages you will receive 100 incoming links which for most people seem to be very shady (specially if you do this massively)

I think this needs more research, and I find difficult to develop an experiment to see how this performs.

The logic says that #1 is much better (wider linkjuice) but prudence says that #2 (less footprint).
At this moment, if I had full choice, I will say that the best option for me (totally subjective) is to create a specific blog page, that links from the sidebar (therefore OPR = 100%) and there, a contextual link to your site in the first paragraph with a quality post with a lot of relevance about the topic of the linked site.

It most certainly does have a blogroll. You just need to set it up properly. Usually the index.php (I checked) runs the blogroll. Its difficult to help you without having access as to what you've done with the theme.

Right, if you do the #2 just write a great post. If you are going to do a very short post with spinned content go for #1
