Need Free Recording Audio Software

I have no knowledge of this thing but got a similar problem before, now I want to post here as this thread is about "audio"

that is, I also use win7 and I want to record the audio playing in the PC, no matter what it is, like a Youtube video, music, etc, I want to record the pure audio, not the background of everything in the real world, so I googled, people say I need set the output of audio to the input of microphone, but in my PC, I can't find the options, later a thread says that option is removed by Microsoft in the system. (while Mac seems still got the option)

I hope u guys know what I am talking about, I am still trying to find a way to do this....

google - YouTube to Mp3 Converter

You can find many free online converters that just rip the audio from a video.
Other than that, Audacity would be your best bet.
