Does a Website Need Filler Info Content To Boost Money Articles?

Considering filler content isn’t the best out there and won’t rank incredibly high, is it worth posting some related to your niche and linking to your money pages?

If yes, then how’s that different from guest posts? Simply because you don’t link out to different sites that can be competitors? Curious on what you guys think.

I assume there is a correlation between the amount of content and the authority of the site, but what’s the point of filler (unique and readable, and quality) if it won’t bring an insane number of visitors?

You can build topical relevancy by having filler articles. They also help in improving or creating a strong internal-link silo structure.

Informational articles relating to money articles is priority. It brings traffic and relevancy. Google can see ads like a shining light, they consider affiliate links as ads. If every article on your site has affiliate links, they are going to look down on your site for relevancy. In laymens terms, if you do not build informational content that has no affiliate links, you are not going to rank as well as you should for your site as a whole.

yeah primarily that. You don't want your filler articles linking to random sites. I don't think there is anything wrong with accepting a few a well written guest posts though, unless it's from a direct competitor.

Filler posts are ones you write yourself. Guest posts are done by other people. I like filler posts because I can craft them to target as many of my buying guides as I want.

I never accept guest posts on my website. The risk of someone doing low-quality SEO to the page is too high for it to ever be worth it.

Yeah, I may start linking to like Wikipedia on every page - with a nofollow tag. I’ve noticed authority sites doing a similar thing. Have you noticed any impact from that or is it just a good practice to do so - makes you look more legit?

And yeah, I’ve had a few troubles with guest posts back in the day - don’t wanna push my luck again, that’s why I was just wondering - thank you for the advices - always interesting to pick your brain hehe

I link out to any external reference I use that isn't a competitor, with a minimum of 3 references. I cannot comment on the SEO impact as I haven't tested this in a vacuum.

I personally think Google doesn’t care if you make money off your articles. As long as you make good content you can focus purely on money articles and not have any issues in my experience, just SEO IMers being paranoid (as they rightfully should be).
