Just wanted to get some ideas from a few people here... Obviously, my first go to is disputing the reviews. If some get removed, great - if not, sucky. Eventually, I'll gate the reviews and hope we can suppress the negative, build up the positive.
But what about the reviews from 5-10+ years ago ?
What I want to do is message the users. Something sort, simple, to the point - understanding their concerns, asking them to maybe give us a second shot, maybe asking for removal (but not with money, or incentive). But I notice these fucking assholes will sometimes "update" (bump) their original post and say they got messaged by me, and that we're dicks and don't use us. So this will sometimes backfire.
Now for sake of this thread, as an example - say the company is a House Painting Company. If there are 20+ reviews, that are 1 star, from 5+ years ago saying "We waited for a free estimate, they never came - don't use this company" - I mean can these people really be that pissed off 5 years later? So we'll message them... ……………..Now on the flip side, if someone left a review 5+ years ago and it's one star and it says something like "This mother ******er painted the inside of my house yellow, I wanted it to be white - we lost $10k" - obviously, we wouldn't reach out to this person (why stir up negative energy when something this fucked happened.
Anyway, anyone ever have luck reaching out to people who posted 1-2 stars, years ago - over something small / asking for removal?
I'll post a sample message I send to these people if anyone here thinks it'll help.
Just trying to think of ways outside of disputing. Because you can only dispute twice. After that, well - I cant think of any other ways to remove a review.
